Write down ten moments when you felt proud and ten when you felt ashamed. For each, identify the value at stake: connection, integrity, creativity, respect. Your recurring values become your compass for rebuilding after divorce or major change.
Chapters
So how do you identify your actual values? Let's get practical. You don't need to guess your values. You uncover them. And here's how. List 10 moments in your life when you felt proud, fulfilled, and at peace. Not when you got the biggest bonus. Not when you impressed the crowd. I'm talking about real, honest peace. Example: sitting with your kids and laughing after a long week. Another example is fixing something with your hands and feeling accomplished. Now ask yourself, what value was present in that moment? Connection? Integrity? Creativity? Freedom? Now do the same in reverse. List 10 moments you felt ashamed, angry, or drained. What value was being violated? Was it respect? Was it honesty? Was it peace? You'll see patterns will emerge. Write those values down. Narrow it to 5. These are your compass. These are what your next chapter is built on. Rebuilding through alignment.
