Happy Thanksgiving, everybody! Today is Thanksgiving, and this year feels very different. My table used to have 12 people around it. Full house, laughter, noise, energy everywhere. This year, 3 chairs. Me, my mom, and my new life partner. And Buddy asleep at my feet. But here's the thing. Even with fewer people, there was more peace at this table than I've felt in years. And I wanted to talk to you about that today. The strange mix of grief and gratitude and the nervous system trying to make sense of it all. If you felt heavier than it should, just mark December 6th, 7 minutes with me live. Your body will thank you for the reset. So let me tell you something personal. Today is is the first Thanksgiving without my dad. He passed last October, and even though a year has gone by, this— his chair— and even though a year has gone by, his empty chair still pulls at me. But the person it hits the hardest is my mom. They worked together almost 60 years, day in, day out. Two people who built a life, a family, a language only they understood. And days like today, the birthday he's not here for, the anniversary she lived through alone. Now Thanksgiving, you can see it in her body. Her breath changes, her eyes get glassy, her voice gets soft because grief doesn't care about calendars, but your nervous system remembers every date. And then there's my own grief. A few years ago, my Thanksgiving was full of kids. Full of warmth. Full of what I thought my family was supposed to look like. Then divorce happened. The brain aneurysm. Then distance. Then no contact after I started dating again. So this year I grieve two things. My dad and the family I lost long before today. But here's the truth. Your nervous system already knows. Grief and gratitude can live in the same room, on the same table, in the same breath. Sometimes the smaller table is quieter but safer, and sometimes the peace is worth the empty chairs. Here's the part most people never talk about. Holidays don't hurt because what's happening today Holidays hurt because what your body remembers from the past— your nervous system stores that stuff like an old photos in a shoebox. You open the lid and suddenly you're right back at the moment. The good memories hit you, the losses hit you, the dreams that didn't happen, they hit you too. And your Your body reacts before your brain even has time to catch up. And that's why some people cry on holidays. And that's why some people feel lonely even in a full house. Your body is trying to protect you even when it doesn't make sense. Even when you wish it would just relax. If your chest feels tight today, if the table felt different if you felt alone even with people around you? Join me on December 6th for a 7-minute reset. Just one guided session can calm the noise inside you. Think of your nervous system like a smoke alarm. It doesn't know the difference between a house fire and burnt toast, okay? But holidays, they trigger all the burnt toast alarms from your past. Old fights, old losses, old hopes, old versions of you. And that's why peace feels rare. That's why calm feels expensive. And that's why tiny things, tiny things hit hard this year. But here's the good news. Just like that smoke alarm, you can reset it. You can retrain that pattern. You can quiet the noise. You can make your system safe again. Not perfect, not magically fixed, just safe. This is what rebuilding actually looks like. It's not a Hollywood version. It's not fireworks and big wins. It's small tables. It's quiet dinners. It's grief shared between the bites. It's breaths taken between memories. It's choosing to keep Showing up for yourself, for the people still here, and even for the ones who aren't. So if you're in your 40s and almost turning 50 like me, there comes a moment where you realize you're not the one holding this family together, even if it's smaller, even if the story changes, even if you're building something new. If today reminded you of what you've lost. Let December 6th remind you of what you can rebuild. Join the 7 Minute Reset live. If you want deeper access, grab the $1 VIP upgrade. The first 100 get the front door priority and the replay. Put it in your calendar. This is your next right thing. Happy Thanksgiving, guys. This is Rebuild Dad.
