I was working as a stand-in on a television show for about a year and a half, and there was a movie star who was also one of the leads on the show offered me something, and I accepted his generosity. And minutes later, he's on the set screaming and yelling about me. That's not what happened. Decades later, I still have— I have no clue as to why this happened. I'm recording this from my hotel room while I'm in LA giving some workshops, and I didn't want to miss sharing a quick tip video with you this week. So here's what happened. Okay, let's get started. This is one of the craziest things I've ever experienced on a set, uh, in my 40-plus years of working as a full-time actor. So here's what happened. So when I was doing stand-in work on this show— and just so you know, so the stand-in stands in for the principal actor while they're getting the lights set up and the cameras set up, and they do some takes to make sure everything's in focus— and then when they're ready technically The second team comes out, the stand-ins, and then the first team, the principal actors, come in and start shooting. And that way the principal actors don't have to sit there for, you know, however long it takes to get all the technical stuff ready for them. So I had recently finished a setup and I was just waiting to, you know, have them finish the scenes. And one of the PAs, the production assistants, Said, hey, look, it's really cold out here. We're not going to need you for about 25 minutes, so why don't you go— and he pointed, he goes, go over there, and you just hang out in that trailer. And I said, you sure that's okay? He goes, oh, yeah, yeah, absolutely. And he was going to give me a walkie-talkie, so that way, whenever they were ready, he could call me, or he would just come and knock on the door and let me know. I said, okay, great. It's much more comfortable sitting in a heated trailer than standing outside in the cold weather. So open up the door, walk in, and I see one of the stars, one of the leads on the show, in his trailer. It was the guy's trailer. And I felt so embarrassed. And I said, I apologize. Now, once again, I had seen this guy for over a year because I worked on this thing for like a year and a half. So it's not like it was a complete stranger walking in. I said, I apologize, I was told to hang out here, you know, during setups. I said, I'm sorry, I'll leave. And he goes, no, no, Aaron, you can hang out. I said, no, I can't. I don't want to sit in your trailer. He goes, look, I'm heading to set right now, we're doing a rehearsal, so just sit in here, it's fine. I said, you're 100% sure? He goes, yeah, yeah, of course. Yeah, just sit in here, it's nice and warm. I said, okay, well, thank you. I really appreciate that. And probably it was about 3 minutes, 4 minutes later, I hear banging on my door, and it's the PA. He goes, Aaron, get out of here. I said, okay. I said, why? What's going on? He goes, This guy's really pissed. He is screaming and yelling, how could somebody put a stand-in in my trailer? And he's yelling. It was one of the most bizarre things I've ever experienced on a set. Like, I don't get it. And to this day, I don't understand. Now, the one, one thing, when I was thinking about this later, one thing that I did know This guy was always complaining about working on a television series. This guy was a movie star. And once, as you guys know, people pass away. I don't want to mention people's names and things like that, so I'm not going to mention his name. But I don't know if maybe he was just angry in general because he's working on a TV series. I don't know. Maybe he needed the money. Who knows? But I know— He used to talk about how he doesn't like doing TV. So I don't know if that played a part in all of this, but it's so weird. I mean, why would he insist on me staying in his trailer? So here's the crazy thing. People will say all kinds of things to you, uh, not only in the industry but just in general, and sometimes it's really hard to understand and know what their real intentions are. So I'd love ask you to share a story from your experience. Have you ever experienced something bizarre on a set where somebody says something to you that is not really what their intentions were? Or just in life, if you've ever experienced something like that, so that way we can learn from you. And, and look, if you haven't done this yet, don't forget Subscribe if you like this, click the notification bell so you always know when a new video is uploaded, and give it a thumbs up, and please share it with fellow actors. So anyhow, it's still pretty early in the morning here. I'm still on East Coast time, and— but I just wake up, you know, 3:30, 4 o'clock in the morning because that's— my body is still on that time schedule. I hope this was interesting and helpful to you. I'd love to hear your comments, and, uh, can't wait to talk with you soon. See ya.
