Agentic AI differs from legacy automation by operating with autonomy rather than requiring exhaustive scenario mapping. It can access internal databases and documentation to make decisions and surface insights humans haven't reviewed yet, delivering value faster.

for everyone involved, they are soul-sucking exercises. I would say where Agentic AI is coming in, in many ways, and I'm overstating this a little bit, it is much like the business process automation tools of the past or the robotic automation tools. What is different is you don't have to map out every single question and scenario. The AI can be used to put some level of autonomy around it. You can give it the questions, you can give it some of the answers, you can forward it your own internal, you can have it troll through your own databases of information. Information, and it can start to make some decisions for you. Or a bigger one is, it can read all the documentation that somebody else didn't read. And there's value in that.
