A client's 12-label system with sub-labels failed because staff took shortcuts and mislabeled everything. The fix: simplify the taxonomy, add change management, and accept that slower implementation means better data quality.

One client came to us with 12 labels and 4 sub-labels, and it changed by department. And that, and again, technically focused, cuz the tool can do all these things. It's great. The problem is when you took that outta tech to someone in accounting or operations or manufacturing, they're saying, look, I don't want to do, I don't want to think this hard. I want to label and be done with it. And so what they would do is then just pick a label cuz it's, it's fine. If I gotta do it, I'll label something inaccurate. I don't care. Now the data's wrong. So the entire premise of the program is flat. Because we made it too hard. So I think the biggest thing is making it easy. Do the OCM and you'll see massive value. So the old adage, slow down to go faster, that's what it's gonna be.
