Hey, Adam here, the roof strategist. And today's video is going to teach you how to find unshakable confidence in what you're doing. And it doesn't start with any trick, any tip, or any hack. It starts with a deep drive and a deep desire to know what you're chasing. Now, listen, I want to share something with you because this whole topic of confidence has been like the hottest thing lately. I'm always getting emails, Adam. How do I stay confident? I show up at someone's house. I literally have to muster the courage to get out and knock. Adam, I've been beat down all week. How do I get out and go hit doors? Adam, it's Saturday. I really just like, I'd love to take the day off. How do you stay motivated? Well, let me tell you something has nothing to do with roofing. And I'll give you, I'll even go so far as to say this. I don't really care about roofing at all. What I care about is you. What I care about is this industry and the opportunity to transform lives, because it did for me. And that's my why. And I was thinking about it this morning while I was doing this journaling exercise. So I was sitting out on my deck and didn't exercise. It was inspired by Tony Robbins. And he said, it's not the why that you chase. Excuse me? It's not what you chase, it's why you do it. And when I came into this industry, my background, as you know, was very different. I studied natural medicine and I was, I was a massage therapist earning $20,000 a year. I was poverty level wages. I was broke. I had to ask my mother at age 20. I forget what was 20 something in my young 20s for. For like 30 bucks. Fill up my Tacoma with gas so I could get home and see family on Easter. Like, that's not a good spot to be in. And when I came into the roofing industry, it was out of necessity. I needed to make money. I needed a new career. I needed an opportunity to dig myself out of misery and to support a lifestyle that would allow me to find my future wife, who I've now been married with, married to for five years. Been together with for nine, by the way. Started through a journaling exercise as I came into this industry, like the roofing industry beyond. Changed everything about my life. And that's my why. So I sat down this morning and I wrote down kind of why I'm doing this and what my vision is for the future. You'll notice a couple things. One, it has nothing to do with money, because when, of course, everyone needs to make a living. And financial goals should be a key part of your personal development strategy. However, when you only focus on money, you go off kilter. And it happened to me in the roofing industry. I kept chasing money. I kept chasing money. I work with a fantastic company. The owner of the company that I was COO of was amazing. He treated me incredibly well. And all I kept doing was chasing money. And I literally worked myself into a point that I almost thought I had a heart attack. I was in the hospital for two days before I was 30 years old. That's not a good spot to be. I was drinking more often than I ought to be. I was just not in a good spot because I had tunnel vision on just money. And you need to focus on more than that. So I want to read to you one of my whys to inspire your development so you can do the same thing. So literally wrote this this morning. I had no intention on doing this video. And here it is with my chicken scratch. So it says. Sorry, I'm skipping through to the part. Oops, I was on page two. There we go. It says, I want to focus my work, which is this. Right on inspiring. Where was it? This is a jo. Yeah. I want to work on. Focus my work on inspiring, empowering, and directly supporting massive transformation to the underserved segment of roofing salespeople and owners. Okay. I want to directly inspire 100,000 people by giving them the inspiration, guidance, and strategies to use the roofing industry as a catalyst that transforms their lives for the betterment of themselves and their families. Okay. You can see this. I didn't put anything about money. I believe that the roofing industry has the power to be a catalyst. I believe it can change lives. Why? Because you can make a tremendous amount of money through a fun game of developing personally. And it changed my life. And that's the reason for this channel. There's times that it's hard to be on video. I know I'm going to be on YouTube. I know that there's haters out there, and it is a big challenge to come out and do this. And if I just chased the money side of it, it would sizzle out. Because I'll tell you, there's a million different ways to make money. I could go start selling. I could start my own roofing company again. I could go back to another line of work that I was in, that I was making very, very good money in. But I'm not doing it. And it's because of an actual deep desire, Dang flies. To sit here and bring a catalyst for massive personal and financial transformation to what I believe is an industry that's incredible, but just doesn't have the right opportunities for everyone. So the underserved segment is the brand new salesperson, the younger company, or the owner, the salesperson that's going off on his own, the sales manager who's coming in with massive opportunity and wants to create that change. And when I wrote down that why, it is way greater than money, way larger than earning an income, which of course I do, of course I want to make money. I have products for sale, I have services that I offer. But it is not what makes me wake up and jump out of bed in the morning, excited to do this. Because right now I had no plan on doing this video. I have my studio set up. I'm putting out two new products, lot a lot of work, tons of video to do them. And it's the most exciting thing I've worked on to date for the roof strategist. But I got inspired to do this because all of this came from this journaling exercise. And what I recommend you do to stay motivated is to sit down and do this for yourself. Write down why it is what you're doing. Is it to support your family? Is it to support your husband or your wife? Is it to send your kids to college? Is it to get rid of all of your debt? Is it to get the vacation house that you've always been dreaming of? Is it to provide flexibility so you can take winters off and travel with the family? Go see family, whatever it is. Like when you have that vision, when you're crystal clear about why it is that you're doing this. Don't write anything about roofing. Don't write anything about money. Write down, what do I want in life? What is my big vision? To support the lifestyle that I want to create? And you write that down when you got your teeth kicked in, you're going to be able to get up and get after it. You're going to be able to go to work and say, you know what? That was a hard spot, by the way. It's the third time I filmed this because my dang microphone didn't work. Instead of having a tantrum saying, oh, God, I got to do it again, I just said, you know what? Next cut's the better one. Because it happens, not everything is going to go smoothly. But when you're anchored into a strong why and a strong vision for what it is you're doing. That's the motivation that helps you get through the roughest of times. Because life ain't easy. Sales ain't easy. Nothing comes easy unless you work for it. And if you want to grind, which is different than hustling, there's grinding. If you want to grind it out and make it happen, you got to be focused on that. Bullseye. Write it down. I hope this video helps you out. If you liked it, give it a thumbs up.
