Adam Bensman (speaker) presents a short YouTube video advising a stepwise sales-training process for roofing sales, aimed at new hires and team owners. He uses a calisthenics muscle-up analogy to argue for mastering fundamentals before advanced techniques. He outlines an ordered training progression: memorize an opening approach, learn the qualifying question, learn how to present based on the prospect's answer (including the four-stage claims/reasons-to-replace framework), then practice basic objection handling. He also announces a free sales-training checklist linked in the video description to guide preparation and team training.

The best sales training process for new hires. I'm not talking systems. This video is for two people. New hires and owners that are running their team. The reason I'm out of breath is I was just practicing a muscle up. I put this bar in my office. I'm geeking out on calisthenics. This has everything to do with roofing sales. See, for so many of us, we have been taught in training to just like look over my shoulder, do as I do, you'll be successful because I was successful and if I did it, so can you. But when we look at any advanced skill sets, whether it's doing a muscle up, whether I was a former combat pistol instructor in training someone to do a drill, imagining your offhand, let's say was injured, you're running and shooting and having to clear malfunctions, all these skill sets. And again, even playing instruments that you have to learn the fundamentals and how they build upon each other first. And I'll give you an example. Like I have been able to do muscle up on the rings, but I've always struggled on a pull up bar. So I watched a tutorial video, gentleman named Chris haria. He's on YouTube, runs a great channel if you're a calisthenics geek like I'm turning out to be. And he broke it down into three movements. And the first one was just simple swing and how to point your toes and basically load your your body up as a spring. So you can then pull yourself into this l sit. And then from there take that moment to pull yourself up over the bar. And then from that moment actually do your muscle up. And all I did was watch a video and I just sat there and I swung. It was the basic thing, basically swinging on a bar. Second one is pulling myself into a half l sit. It's like, okay. And then I put it together and the reason I'm sharing this is so many people. And if you're new in sales too, this is for you. We go right into like, hey, I just want to get out there and go knock doors and be an all star. Well, it's not going to happen. We need to break down the fundamentals in the following orders. So first we need to know what we're going to say when we approach the door to get rid of the nerves and concern about not knowing what to say or fumbling in your words. You just get that part down. Then what question do I ask? Okay, I got that down again. I'm breaking this lab formula. And then from there it gets more advanced. How do I present based on their answer? Understanding the fundamentals of the four stages of the claims process or the four reasons people replace the roof when it's retail. And then from there I'm going to break into my objection handling. But I don't need to know how to overcome all the objections. I need to first know what I'm going to say. Understanding the fundamentals of the formula aro. And then when it comes to presenting in the home, the same thing goes the same way. So anyway, I. I didn't know how to do this muscle up thing. I've only done three of them. I struggle a lot. I'm just going to see if I can hit it now. Now I jumped into it because I'm nervous because I'm on camera. Give me a second, see if we can hit this. Yeah, there we go. So anyway, I was only my fourth muscle up, but doing it by putting together the fundamentals and you can do the same thing. So to help with that, by the way, I just put together a brand new sales training checklist. It is free. You can find it linked beneath this video. And in that checklist you're going to learn what you need to do in what order to prepare yourself or your team for success in the battlefield by understanding the right principles to study. So you can do it. Man, that got me winded. Anyway, it's beneath here. Hope this helps. I'll see you guys soon.
