Going Door-to-Door? Use My Method To Get Call-Backs Even If No One Is Home

Adam Bensman shares a door-to-door sales tactic: leave a hand-signed, rolled letter stapled to your business card instead of a generic door hanger. The personalized approach gets callbacks even when no one answers, because it stands out and makes a stronger first impression than what competitors do.

Hey, Adam here, the roof strategist, and I'm going to show you the technique that I've used, developed and tested with companies across the US And Canada to get callbacks from doors that you knock when no one's home. And to do that, we have to do two things. Number one, we have to be different. And number two, we have to make an incredible first impression. And here's how. What we don't want to do is leave a generic door hanger that's rectangular, has a logo, free inspection, and a bunch of other jargon on it, Right? Because everybody's doing that. And what homeowners do is they rip it off, they say someone was on my doorstep, and they throw it out so we can be different. And here's what I use. I use this exact letter. By the way, this is part of my roofing sales accelerator marketing pack. You can get instant access to it in the link to the video description below. Excuse me, not the link in the video description below. Or you can write your own. But I encourage you to try this one. I've tested a bunch, and here's how I use it. All you need to do is fill in your phone number, email address, and company name. Click print. We hand sign right here in blue ink so it stands out, right? It looks like it wasn't printed. Hand sign it with blue ink and staple your business card to it. This is something you can do while sitting on a couch after work having a beer, prepping these letters for when you're going out canvassing. Then what you want to do is you roll it up just like this and stick it in the door. Now, you'll notice that it looks like a notice. So when the homeowner drives in the driveway or they answer the door, they see something different. They pull this off. They expect a notice of sorts, and they start reading it. And what it is is it reads like a personal letter, like you actually wrote it straight for them in their neighborhood about who you are and what you can do for them. And it highlights a few things that makes you as a contractor, different than everybody else at the door. And most importantly, it gives them a call to action to contact you for that appointment. What I call the free inspection and property damage assessment. So if you want to start using this letter right away, you can get instant access to it in the roofing sales accelerator marketing pack. The link is in the video description below. If you'd like to, you can start trying different letters. It took me a long time of trying letters and trying a different letter and to see what actually got callbacks. And this thing works. So next time you're out knocking doors, don't just knock the door and leave. Make sure to stand apart. Do something different and use this strategy to leave this personal sales letter behind and you can start getting callbacks today. Now, if you like what you see, give me a thumbs up.
