Hey. Hey. We are live again today. Hey, guys, Adam here, the roof strategist, and it has hailed. Hail season is officially underway. I'm getting messages from Arkansas, from Texas, Illinois, Wisconsin, Ohio, Iowa, and Michigan. I know Iowa, Michigan, Ohio, those were smaller things, but Illinois, Wisconsin, we've got some stuff going on. So huge question right now. How in the world do you knock doors? And if you can't. Excuse me. How do you work the hailstorm if you can't knock doors right now? Now, again, Adam here, the roof strategist. Another episode of Lockdown Live. Guys, I'm sorry. I queued up the email to go out to let everyone know that I was going live, and it literally just started sending, like, a second ago. So if you missed this, you're catching the replay. Now, before we jump in on the no door knocking canvassing approach, I want to frame this with two things. One, this is a huge thank you to Jason. I'm not gonna be sharing Jason's name or his company to protect his privacy, because Jason shared some of this stuff with me today because he used what I'm going to show you to ink four deals in one day. Jason joined on yesterday's live. He shared this. He shot me an email with a personal video. It was super, super helpful. What Jason is doing is blending the approach that I've been teaching you on the no contact sales process, using the inspection, sitting in your truck, all that stuff which we're gonna walk through today. He. He proved that it works, and he put his own spin on two things, which I'm going to show you. This was with his permission to share this with you. Now, before we jump in, there's two more things I just want to quick hit one. Jason is using the material inside my marketing battle pack. He's using the letters that I actually work with him. He emailed me some thoughts, and I shot him my feedback to modify one of the letters specific to the COVID 19 pandemic. So it's relevant to. To the customer saying, hey, we care. We're offering a no service, excuse me, no contact needed service plan. And he put some of his own language on there, but the bones of it, I'd say, Jason, correct me if I'm wrong, if you're here, that 95% of the letter is identical, and he just put his own twist. So that's step one. And again, my link to my marketing battle packs, in the description, I have an entire bundle of stuff that's COVID 19 specific, so get that as well. Obviously, during this stuff going on and that's what he used. Second thing, this is a huge testament to the community of people that are part of this channel. Guys, gals who are watching. This channel is for you, built around you and it's more than me. This is the community. This is a collective learning experience. These videos, there's no door knocking approach. Started with two things. One, my wife is part of the team. She came in, she goes, holy smokes, Wisconsin just got obliterated by hell. She found out before I did. I was sitting up here in my office and she came up and was like, it got obliterated by hail. Meanwhile, Jason's messaging me. Meanwhile, I'm getting emails from people and I'm seeing on some of the Facebook groups where people are engaging saying, how do I drum up business when I can't knock doors? So big thank you to all of you who are here. I did look through my just some of the data of the channel. It looks like half people that are watching aren't subscribed. So if you're one of those people, I highly encourage and invite you to just click the subscribe button. That way you'll see when I go live and all that stuff. All right, now, without further ado, let's jump into the system. This is going to be a quick, hard hitting video on no door knocking canvassing because it hailed hail season is underway officially and it is critical that we get out and drum up business because if you're not first, you're last. And Jason emailed me another email and he goes, adam, huge lesson learned. They went out to ground zero from a huge, huge, pretty devastating storm. And he goes, I was hours late, daylight, maybe it was a day. I have to double check. It was either hours or a day and it was already too late. So the point is you need to get out there first. So here's the deal. We cannot be going door to door right now in knocking to canvas because it is an intrusion of privacy, comfort, all of the things that we need to avoid right now. Here's what Jason did. Jason grabbed a letter and this is what's interesting because in the battle pack, I've got letters that go in the mail and I've got letters that are left on the door after canvassing. The this was the first time I've seen this work and Jason proved it. So I'm going to let you choose which one you do and I'll share with you because if you're not in a position to buy the battle pack, I'll just Give you a high level concept of what's in there. And if you want it, you can get it. Everything that's in yellow, you just put in your info. So here's what Jason's doing. He brought tape with. He goes up to the door, bring some tape, by the way, use a tape that's not going to leave a bunch of adhesive, okay. Rip off a chunk of tape, and instead of knocking on the door, tape, boom. This will grab someone's attention. When you see something taped to your door. Hopefully it's not an eviction notice. Right? No, I'm just kidding. It will grab your attention. Right now. Time is of the essence. So this idea of the taping, 100% Jason's credit. Jason, thank you so much for sharing that with me and giving me permission to share with the channel because I know it's going to go to use. So when you do this, when you tape this to the door, Jason says grab people's attention. He got callbacks from booked four appointments. And then I'm going to walk you through the process of how he inked those deals. Because direct mail is really powerful. But right now, we don't have the luxury of time on a fresh storm. When an area is going to get worked, you need to do that then. So first things first. This one says, you know, that you wanted to stop by, but I'm. And again, the language. I printed this one out because this is the actual direct mail one, so it has to be modified. I want her to stop by, but I'm practicing social distancing, so I'm leaving this here first. So you'll notice that the headline, it's bold, it jumps out. It looks like an important letter. So again, the idea is to draw someone in. So they grab this. Once they start reading, they're going to get through it. And then you have your invitation for your no contact service plan in the message in the letter. Okay, now how does that work? Here's a different letter that I printed out. So top says, sorry I miss you. Here's a short note explaining why I stopped by but didn't knock on your door. Okay, See that? And then you just plug in the information that you need. This gets hung up. And again, the information, we're providing a no contact service plan. In response to COVID19, we're offering free video and photo report to answer all your questions over phone or video conference. So when this is at the door and then they call, okay, so what do you do? So I got my. All my things in that pile. What you do is you say, I need that time from you. Just want to make sure you're home. I'm not going to knock on the door, give them a courtesy call or text that you've shown up. Okay. Then hop up on the roof, do your inspection. What Jason told me he does is he. He gets the contingency agreement signed. Excuse me. Filled out, does the pitch over the phone, delivers the text, and all of that while he's sitting in his truck in the homeowner's there, gets to the point of the contingency. He fills everything out in his truck. And what Jason did is he slips it into a manila envelope. I didn't have one on hand, but Jason showed me. He slips it into a manila envelope. You may or may not need to do it. I know when. When my team, we all had company branded folders, so you can put it in that. And then he grabbed a bag. Now, Jason went to the dollar store and got those cute. Or maybe was it dollar store, general store. And got, like, gift bags. You know, that you put, like, gift card in everything. And then that made sure the envelope fit. What I have is a swag bag from a conference. And he slipped the agreement inside this, took a pen, hung it on the outside. By the way, some people might get weird about the pen just because of sharing things. So optional on the pen. And then he slipped it on the door. He says, Mr. And Mrs. Homeowner, I have everything filled out for me to take this to get started on this right away. He hangs it on the door, goes back to his truck, shoots him a text or a call or he's on the phone while he's doing it, right? And then hangs it up. The homeowner reaches in, grabs it, signs it, puts it back, and then he leaves. He signed four deals using this system. Hey, Michael, thanks for. For doing the little comment there. Doing well, my friend. All right, so that is it. Quite simple. So, guys, here's this. Here's the key takeaway. Just because you cannot knock doors does not mean you can't sell. I want to expand on what Jason's doing just a little bit. I'm setting this down in addition to those letters, okay? I know that your pitch will change based on why you're there. You might be asking yourself, hey, well, that's great for right away, but what about as the storms? A week old, two weeks old. What about when I need to let someone know that I'm. I'm roofing the neighbor's house? Or you Know, I already got this customer sign. The good news is, is inside the battle pack, you can write your own. Inside the battle pack, there's different letters that you can use for different times. No door knock, canvassing. Grab that letter. Okay, the short note. Oops, sorry about that. Boom, there we go. Short note explaining why you want to stop by but didn't knock on the door. Get the call back. Then you sign this neighbor, different letter, go hit him again, tape them up and say, hey, the reason I'm stopping by, I'm working with Peg approach. Think of everything that you do going door to door, put it in writing, tape it on the door. And again, be mindful, painters. Tape was ideal because it's not going to leave some residue. You don't want to get that call back saying, hey, butthead, you taped my door and there's adhesive stuck to it. So anyway, that is the main gist of how this program works. And Jeffrey, I'm going to answer your question here in a minute. The main takeaway, get out there if you can't do it, or if the stay at home orders are very strict, abide by whatever state, county, city laws you have in place. If you can't be doing this, use mail. Next best thing is mail first best thing, taping it on the door. Respect the distance. Okay. All right. Jeffrey says, how many of these, excuse me, should each salesperson put up in a day, do you think? As many as possible, man. If you normally would go out in canvas, you're not going to be doing the thing where you knock. You wait for someone to answer. So print out a junk load of them, tape them. By the way, I sign everything in blue ink and I've said this. I think I said this on one of them. Maybe it was on a podcast. By the way, I was on roofing success podcast again with Jim Allen and you can check that out. It was a whole thing on prospecting, selling and collecting during this stuff. But I think it might have been with Jim that I personally or Trey, I was on spotio's podcast as well. They put together a bunch of information. Trey's a great dude over at spotio and he, not only was I on it, but a whole bunch of other really, really bright people from the industry sharing their insights on how to thrive through this. So if you want to check them out, you are more than welcome to that as well. So on one of those, I forget which one. I said you sign it in blue ink. Why blue? Because it pops. I also learned in high school Back when you used to write papers, people that wrote in blue ink had a higher score than those that, excuse me, received higher grades than Rose that those that wrote in black ink. So that just stuck with me hand sign them Jeffrey in blue ink. If you want, you can stamp your business card to it. You probably don't need to because you'll see at the bottom of this there's a spot. You're going to be putting all your contact info in an envelope. I like to do it because there's one more thing. So the answer, Jeffrey, is as many as you can right now. Use your time as wisely as possible. You're not out knocking doors. Why wouldn't you just go tape these up as much as he can? So if that, I hope that answers your question. If it doesn't, drop another one. So this is going to be a shorter one. The main thing for everyone out there in. I know again, Arkansas got hit. Texas already got hit. Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa a little bit. Ohio a little bit. In Michigan a little bit. Is really early for those hailstorms up north. April, early, early April. So do not let what's going on prohibit you from getting after it. Geoffrey, what I might do if I was you is to layer on again, reference my multi touch marketing video. Because if you can hang these letters up, send a direct mail letter after it and then use an app like Spotio or interactive hail maps or deal machine, which will give you homeowners phone numbers, you can quick. Right now, ground zero. Get out, hang the letters, get back to your office, send another letter in the mail and you can adjust the letter to say, I'm following up because I stopped by your house, I left a note I wanted to follow up, make sure you got it, see if you had any questions, questions and then your pitch. And again, you can modify my letters as well or write your own. Then you've got two touch points and then you can come back again with that phone call. So now you've got three hits per homeowner in the area you want to penetrate, and then you can work the installs. So after you do those, leave the letter, mail it, call, easy. Okay, easy, easy. That's three touches. Then once you start getting some deals, you can start tagging doors with install notices, neighborhood notices, to really build that brand awareness and become the neighborhood roofer of your honeyhole. All right, that's all I had for today's video. I wanted to keep this one short and actionable, especially since I couldn't get the email out in time. For everybody to be here. So for those that are watching the replay, appreciate you taking the time out of your day. Appreciate you guys for being here as well. Thank you again. Now, before we wrap up, I want to end with three things. One, do something with this. Show it to your team, okay? Two, this channel is about you who are watching your team as an owner, your team as a salesperson. It's for you, okay? It's for whoever you care about. And this wouldn't be possible without everybody being on the same team to some extent. And I mean this when I say it, I truly don't believe in competitors in this space. Okay? People will choose who they know like and trust. People will choose who they believe in, and people will choose who they're confident with. There's enough homes to go around that. And I know you're going to hear, you're going to be like, Adam, what the hell? Like, I hear other people who have this cutthroat attitude. I've been in that cutthroat thing and I just stopped it. I go out, I do my job. I know I'm going to win business. Not by giving stuff away, not by buying people's business. I'm going to win it because people say, man, this guy knows what he's doing. He's going to take good care of me. And I believe not only in him, but I believe in the company. And when you position yourself that way, you're going to win. So the reason I share that is as a community of people, that we are the roof, strategists, insiders, this community, community is all about helping each other. So when you have wins, when you have insights, share them. This helps everybody grow together. All right? And the third thing I would love, if you guys drop more comments, shoot me more emails, my inbox, I'm struggling to keep up with some of you. We end up in these rapid fire things. And I'm sitting in front of my email more often than I would be because of all that's going on. And I love it. I really do. So if you have suggestions, if you have questions this time during these lockdown lives, which right now is through the end of April, it's for you. So thanks for being here. Thanks for being a part of it. Thumbs up means this video was good. Do more like it. I like seeing those. So drop a thumbs up if you dig it. Subscribe. And if you need any help, I'm offering a small discount to help out during COVID 19. Just email me for the marketing battle pack. And I will pop you over a little gift as a thank you. My way of helping out any way I can. Guys. Everybody rise to the occasion. Control what you can in get after it. Stay on the gas. The floodgates will reopen as things return to normalcy in not too long. We will get through this together. Thank you all for being here. I will see you tomorrow. Be well. Take care.
