Roofing claims may change forever, as Verisk, who owns xactimate, will own Acculinx. This is a $2.3 billion deal, as far as I know, the largest in the roofing industry. And I'm joined here today with John Cenac, fellow mentor in rsra. As we talk through what this will mean, we're going to go through the actual investor deck and talk about what you may want to do to get yourself prepared for what could be coming. John, dude, thank you so much for being here. This was. I messaged you late last night and. And here we are jumping on this.
Morning, so thank you. Looking forward to it. Dude, this is the stuff I love to talk about.
Yeah, you know, our industry is changing really fast and a lot of folks aren't quite adapting. And as Joe Polish says, where there is anxiety, there is opportunity, and a lot of people are seeing doom and gloom. There's things that people like, don't like. And the purpose of this video is to break down objectively what we see, let you draw your own conclusions. We'll share our own predictions. But I just need to be real clear. These are our predictions. This isn't fact. Neither of us have the inside information that we would leak to. To the world, so this is objective. Again, what I'll be going through today is sharing the actual investor deck from Verisk. This is straight from Verisk's website on the pending acquisition. We'll talk through this into the. Into the little back history of the two largest shareholders of Verisk, and then our predictions. But, John, before we get into it, what. What was your reaction when you first, you know, heard this news?
I had two instant reactions. Instant reaction number one was business owner reaction. Good job. You just broke the record in the roofing space as far as, like, software techs, mergers, anything like that. And which is crazy because a month ago, roughly, we had near map by itel for $1.3 billion. Okay. So this almost doubled that deal. So my own reaction was like, exactly what you want to do. Build it, scale it, grow it, exit it, or hand it down to family. Like, phenomenal job. My contractor, right? Like the contractor space that I'm constantly round and working with was like, oh, my God, people have said this.
