Hey, Adam here, the roostratters. And today we are out in the field in Cheyenne, Wyoming, scouting a small little hailstorm. And I want to show you a few little tricks of the trade to help locate the right neighborhoods to hit and how to make the most of your drive. Now, listen, I'm in Cheyenne. I'm about to show you something on this house and kind of how I found it using one of my trusty and most favorite tools for scouting, my pair of binoculars. So I've never been in Cheyenne. Small little town, really, really small hailstorm that hit. And as I'm cruising through this area, which you can see, you know, is a lot of resident or, excuse me, a lot of multifamily units. There's a lot of three tabs and big potential projects, so you can grab all those signs. But what caught my attention was first, this mailbox that you see right there. Okay. That mailbox was showing all these little clean marks from hail. So I slammed on the brakes, grabbed my binoculars, and I took a look up at the roof vent, which I'm gonna show you this around. So when we look up at this, at this house, I zoom in. You can see, even from here, evidence of hail up on that roof. Is it big? No, it's not big, but. But it's there. So I located a small little area. Now, coming in here, I looked at all the box vents on the roofs that were clean. Clean, clean views. By the way, I take side roads. I don't ever take the main roads. That way I can see more in the neighborhood. Look for foliage that might have been destroyed, but I saw nothing. And Cheyenne's not a huge area. So this is starting to get in the northwest part of town, and boom, first spot. So what I would do is grab a screenshot of the map on my phone so I know exactly where I'm at. And using the. Using the GPS tracker on my phone, so I know where I've driven and what I've seen. I know where I'm at, and I'm going to make notes so I can either come back. Now, you'll notice there's a guy in the neighbor's house right there. You can see his truck with a ladder in it. He actually just put that in while I was there. I think that's the homeowner, but he's out. And right now would be a great time for me to stop and just chat with him. Hey, man, that hailstorm that came through was June 26th a few weeks ago, you know, and just. I Start getting information. How long did it hail? How big was it? Did he notice anything? And that way I can offer the inspection there. But most importantly, I'm going to get information that's super valuable to help me with my scouting efforts. I've talked to a few people. Some people like, oh, barely hailed the hail report, especially on Noah might come in saying it was like inch and three quarters and he goes, oh, I took a picture of it. Here it is. People will keep hail in their freezer, so don't be ashamed to stop and talk to people. And most importantly, bring those binoculars with because that little golden nugget of an opportunity, that little bit of data is going to help you find that right neighborhood. So today's video was a short one, but a golden nugget nonetheless. Remember, next time you're out in the field and you're trying to find that neighborhood, bring those binoculars with. Just be mindful, be safe, be smart and take a look at those mailboxes and up at roof vents, any of that soft metal that might show some damage. So little canvassing tip for you.
