My name is Adam Bensman with the Roof Strategist. Welcome to this week's video series on how to use a spotlight to find damage on aluminum. Soft metals such as downspouts, gutters, window wraps, aluminum siding, and also wood wrapped aluminum. Excuse me, aluminum wrapped wood windows. So we got our spotlight here. This is an LED spotlight. A Brinkman high lumen spotlight works better. I prefer to buy it off Amazon. If you simply search Brinkman spotlight, you'll find it. So we're in Denver daylight here. I'm using this. This is mechanical damage to make a point just so it shows up easy on camera. In daylight. I hold the spotlight about parallel to the aluminum product and I shine the light on it. And you'll notice here these hits pop very easily. And I run my spotlight up and what you could overlook, especially on a painted downspout, not see it. You run that light parallel to it and. And those shadows are cast and they're going to signify that nasty, nasty hail damage. Now the other thing that you can do here is hold it up to gutter pans and fire it down. Gutters going up and down on downspouts as well.
