Why Top Roofers Are Secretly Hiring THIS New Position

Adam Bensman (speaker) urges roofing companies to gain a first-mover advantage by adopting AI and hiring a dedicated "tech integrator" — a single in-house role that monitors and implements AI agents, project visualizers, CRM automations and operational agents to reduce administrative headcount and improve margins. He cites a free 2025–2028 Roofing Market report (available at roofmarketreport.com) that outlines nine market conditions and predicts widespread AI/tool adoption by 2027. Bensman contrasts tech-enabled firms (instant online booking, visualizers) with antiquated competitors and warns against fragmented external AI agencies; hiring one in-house integrator can consolidate capabilities and lower recurring agency spend. He also notes rising costs in roofing (materials, insurance) and an illustrative claim that some companies spend ~44% of gross sales on materials.

Roofing companies with the first mover advantage are hiring this new role that's never been in the roofing business before. And in this video I'm going to share with you why smart roofing companies are filling this role and how you can start right now. Because the industry is changing and I have spent countless hours and sleepless nights preparing the 2025-2028 Roofing Market report. It's available free, there's no catch. You, you can get a copy right now in the link in the description or by going to roofmarketreport.com all right. Now this 2025-2028 Roofing Market report examines the nine market conditions that you need to stay on top of to build a profitable future proof company of tomorrow. But you can do it starting today. That's how you get the first mover advantage to be the company that everyone is chasing to catch up to. Now when we get into this report, which by the way, this was so much fun putting together there's nine different categories and to distill it to just 17 pages took a tremendous amount of distillation. But I didn't want to leave out anything you needed to know. So it ended with this very easy to read, quick hitting guide. So when I get down to number nine, we're going to look into the AI section and you're going to start to see what this role might be and how you can start filling it. So here we go. Starting at the top of the list we we have in the next three years the tail end of 2025 at the time of this recording we are going to see that homeowners and by the way, this pairs this top point pairs with what homeowners want, which is instant information and homeowners. Another part of this report will choose to work with tech enabled companies over those that don't. And if you don't believe me, ask yourself this question. Imagine you're going to go out to a restaurant and you're busy and one restaurant says book your reservation online right now and you can click, click, click, go. The next one says please call us. Well, they don't open till five and you need a reservation and it's two o', clock, what do you do? You find the company who's going to take your reservation. Now this may seem like a rudimentary thing because online reservations have become standard, but when they were new that was weird. Now we expect it. In fact, I just went to go make a reservation for traveling to a mastermind and the place said Please call us for reservations. I was like, who are you? I just want to click on a website. So as we see things changing, these chatbots and phone agents and scheduling tools will become the norm. And you can see down here it says why expect widespread adoption by 2027 with AI now going to take a pause here and look at our project Visualizers. Now these project visualizers are so cool. It can show a before and after to give the homeowner the experience of what their roof or their siding project will look like. It's like wow worthy. Now in the past you used to have to pay for subscription services because everyone's getting subscribed to death now in the roofing industry. More on that in a little bit. And we're seeing that these project visualizers can actually be created using ChatGPT. In fact, it's one of the richest parts in my experience about our community, the first Mover Advantage community inside rsra because we have members sharing how they're using AI each and every day to do project Visualizers, to build AI agents, to auto populate and update CRM and to handle different tasks that their administrators have had to do in the past. And because things are changing all the time and us like sharing with each other, it's so rich. So these Project visualizers again, a tech enabled company that's like, hey, can't figure out what color to choose? Use our Project Visualizer. Upload a picture of your house. Click here, click here, click here. You're like oh, I want that one. And the next guy was like hi, call us, we'll give you an estimate. We won't share our pricing. By the way, we want a two hour appointment with you. Oh, and also I don't answer my phones after hours. You can see why these tech leading companies are going to start grabbing market share over what I'll call the more antiquated or old school ways of doing business. And again, many people freak out and you'll hear me say this quote over and over again because I love it so much and I hope you do too. It was Curtis Chang. Where there is anxiety, there is opportunity. And there is so much opportunity in this AI space, especially for the first movers. Let's get back to it. All right now I want you to scroll down to these two things. Investing in AI development will result in better profit margins. You might be wondering why. Read the next bullet. Operational agents will reduce administrative staffing requirements. Requirements. Now I get into this in the report and other sections and I Just want to help bring some of it together for you right now. I do recommend reading the whole report. You'll come up with your own conclusions and not just the ones that I'm sharing with you. Now we know that roofing has just gotten more and more expensive as a business. Insurance, like paying GL workers comp is going up. Material is going up. In fact, I've heard of people spending 44% of their net sales, excuse me, of their gross sales is going towards material. Which is why I did another video on the seven different ways to negotiate the lowest possible prices on material. I'll share that video with you here at the end. So costs are going up, but when you bring AI into your business, it allows you to reduce the administrative requirements, meaning less people, which allows you to stay healthier. Especially if you've been tuning into the channel, you'll see that marketing costs are statistically continuing to increase. So as marketing costs go up, so everything else, we have to find some places to bring costs down, to have healthy margins. And that's where AI is coming in. Now here's the role. We see all of these different things we can be doing, and there's no shortage of agencies that are very hungry for the money in your pocket. They want your chips. And that, by the way, was taken from a really great book called Winning Through Intimidation. I highly recommend it. I forget the author's name. If you've read the book, drop a comment. It's fantastic. Joe Polish recommended it, by the way, when I was at Genius Network. And a really, really good book about, by the Way. It's not about intimidating others. It's like what to do when people are intimidating you. I digress. When you jump on YouTube, you will see all these tutorial videos about like, how to start an AI agency. And these companies are charging 5, 6, 8, 10, $12,000 a month. And it's like this new gold rush. Like build call agents and build text agents and build automated workflows and we'll handle it for you. Well, these are all like sizable salaries. And what's going to end up happening is this fragmented approach of AI deployment in your company. Like, well, I need that guy for the phone thing, I need that guy for the text thing, I need that guy for the CRM thing. And I need this guy for helping out with our workflows thing. And we've got all these different people. Just like your marketing, you got your PPC guy, your Facebook guy, your web guy, your blah, blah, blah, your branding guy, your website. Like all These fragmented things. So the move here to get a first mover advantage, and I'm watching companies do this right now, is to find this role, the tech integrator. The tech integrator is a person whose pulse is on all of the latest AI happenings because this stuff is evolving. If I were to tell you the latest AI tools today, I kid you not, within two months, there's going to be new ones, there's going to be evolutions and updates and releases. And as Zach Kass, who's one of the authors of ChatGPT, says, adaptability is the new strategy. And what's wild, I saw him speak last November at the Genius Network annual event, and he said these AI agents, to have everyone have an AI agent on their phone was just around the corner. Well, guess what? ChatGPT5 and Gemini both released an AI agent. You can have it do your shopping, plan your trips, and even store your credit card to go do things for you. This stuff is coming and many people are resisting it. But when you start bringing it in house, and if you create the role of a tech integrator who doesn't need to know roofing, but they can sit there and observe your workflow and say, all right, I can solve X, Y and Z, we can do this. Now, Instead of you paying 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, $10,000 per month to multiple agencies, you bring one person in house on salary, and you have an AI whiz to automate your business. Create an amazing experience that people would want to refer and review and give homeowners what they want, while giving you not only the first mover advantage, but the opportunity to be a continual first mover as technology evolves. So if you want your first mover advantage, create and hire a tech integrator role. And if you want to learn even more about how you can start saving money on your overhead, jump into this very next video and I'll teach you seven negotiating tactics to pay the least amount you possibly can on material. We'll see you soon.
