A personal trainer explains why training clients in a gym is financially unsustainable in expensive cities like London, and why working online offers better income and location freedom instead.
If you live in a high cost and high tax city like London, getting ahead financially becomes infinitely more difficult. I moved from just south of London to Dubai which is still an expensive city, has a high cost of living associated to it, but it's more tax friendly with no personal tax and just 5% VAT. If I wanted to lower my cost of living I could just move to a place like Bali where you could get a nice place to live a full time maid and basically live like royalty off of about 3k a month. The key is to find a way to earn money online while living outside of high expense, high tax cities. If you're a PT that's tied to the gym floor, then you're also tied to the cost of living associated with the area that you're in. As an online pt, you can live and work from wherever you want, whether that's your living room, a local coffee shop or a beach in Thailand. As long as you have Wi Fi, you can train clients, make money and finally get ahead financially.
