A talk on the difference between entertainers and experts in online coaching. The speaker argues you should own your natural style rather than pretend to be something you're not, and excel at what actually works for you.
You're either an entertainer or you're an expert. I feel there's no middle ground on this and I think this has changed a lot over the past 18 to 24 months as online coaching has become more and more popular. If I tried putting out James Smith style content, it would not look good. It'd be very embarrassing. Personality of a teacher. So I own that and I lean into that and I'm all in on the expert side of things. Back when I was a pt, I got the most results out of all of the coaches I worked on the gym floor with. I still haven't seen any other mentorship match us the amount of people that we've taken off the gym floor fully online. I don't try and play this like middle ground. I don't try and put out like funny or engaging riddles. I just own who I am. Try and become the best in the space. If you know that you're really funny, you've got a good sense of humor, you're creative and so on. Lean into this, become an entertainer, own that. Like build a brand. But if that doesn't come naturally, don't sit halfway down the scale. You need to become the best. You need to become like a world class coach. If you're not an entertainer.
