Jack Lawrence and Max O'Neill launch a dog training podcast. Max is a nationally accredited trainer at Down Under Dog Trainer on the Gold Coast with experience in pet, guide, assistance, therapy, and protection dogs. They promise balanced perspectives on training methods without the usual ideology wars.
It's the Dog People Podcast, a podcast that's hopefully going to bring you a no-nonsense approach to dog training. My name is Jack Lawrence. Max O'Neill is here with me as well. First and foremost, I am no dog expert. I enjoy podcasts. I make podcasts. In fact, I make crime podcasts, but I, as a hobby, Max, I love dog training. And I thought, why not mix the two together? Trouble is I know nothing about dog training. Luckily, I know a man who does. Max O'Neill, tell us your experience and your knowledge of dog training so people know that they can trust your opinion.
I'm the owner and head trainer of Down Under Dog Trainer on the Gold Gold Coast. Uh, so I have my national accreditation with the NDTF, that's my dog training and behavior certification, as well as a similar certification in the UK. I have a background in pet dogs, behavior, guide dogs, assistance dogs, therapy dogs, and now protection dogs. So I'm pretty well versed in a lot of styles of training. I'm a balanced trainer, so look at it from all sides of the spectrum and all points of view. And that's the point of view I want to give you guys here on the podcast as well, is we don't want to give you any biased views or Just looking at it from one angle. We're gonna come at it from all angles. We really wanna break things down and look at it with an unbiased perspective and give you guys hopefully unbiased information that you can take away and actually use. So, we wanna give you really just no-nonsense information. We're gonna get straight into it, not waffle around and just—
Yeah, no waffle here, no fluffing here. It's all gonna be straight up knowledge and information. And as Max said, coming from both sides of the fence. For most people who haven't had anything to do with dogs, you'll know that the dog training world is very divisive. There's a lot of fences, people on either side, some on the middle. We're going to discuss it all in a very balanced manner, give our opinion, or, well, I mean, I'll give my personal opinion. Max will give his professional opinion and hopefully give you a better understanding, better knowledge so that you'll never have to shout, it's okay, he's friendly.
