Whenever the dreaded writer's block strikes, I do the same thing every single time. I close my laptop, I turn my phone on to do not disturb and I get out of the house. Maybe it's a 20 minute walk with my dog Tater or a two hour trip to the local cafe. I love to work in cafes. Something about the noise really gets my juices flowing. Or maybe I'll take a whole day to binge watch my favorite show on Netflix or listen to a true crime podcast. It might sound counterintuitive because of course you are trying to write after all. But I find that whenever writer's block hits, it's usually because I'm overthinking it and putting too much pressure on myself. And what I need most is to get out of my head, turn my work brain off and allow myself time to just relax a little. And this usually gets my inspiration and creative juices flowing and then there is no stopping me. So if you experience writer's block, comment below and let me know because you are not alone.
