Yo, what's up everybody? It's Justin live from B2B Vault. Um, I got Allen next to me. We got a lot of feedback from this, uh, QuickBooks Point of Sale end of life episode. Um, people were asking questions. Hitting me up on emails, direct messages. I couldn't answer everybody's questions. And I was asking Allen, and he— I had said, you know, let's use the plat— let's, let's do the B2B Vault as a way where you could get it out there and explain to people what is happening. Was it October? Yes, in October of this year. What's, what's QuickBooks gonna do? Are they doing anything, etc., etc.? Um, so yeah, man, Allen, what is happening in October of 2023 this year with QuickBooks? Not QuickBooks the entire company, ladies and gentlemen, the point of sale system that QuickBooks offers.
Yeah, so QuickBooks Point of Sale, they've decided that they don't want to support the product anymore.
Which means that if you have a point-of-sale system that you purchased from QuickBooks, that you will no longer get support, updates, right?
You know, and the other thing is all that other stuff— the payment system won't be working any longer, the software is not going to be supported. It's also— the main thing is it's not going to be PCI compliant. Now we're seeing this with other point-of-sale systems too. Too, because there's been quite a few companies over the last 2 years that have been bought up. I mean, when they get bought up, let's say Company A buys 3 point-of-sale companies, well, they're not going to renew the PCI compliance on those other 3 companies.
It costs money.
They're gonna— yeah, because it costs a lot of money, right? And development. So they're gonna get all their customers, they're gonna decide on one point-of-sale update that one, then they're going to get all their customers to merge to that point of sale, right? Right. And get off of the one that they have. So that's what's going on with QuickBooks. So QuickBooks is, you know, you have to get rid of it. So you need to figure out what to do. We have a nice low-cost alternative to replace QuickBooks Point of Sale.
Before you get into that, right, so I have a QuickBooks Point of Sale at my bakery. Okay, October 2nd comes and what, what happens? Well, the payment side of it's not going to work anymore, so I'm not going to be able to collect money, right?
Unless you have a credit card machine on the side.
Got it.
And the software, if there's any problems with it, there's not going to be a way to fix it, right? And so like on a security level Well, from a security level, you're not going to be PCI compliant.
That's why I'm talking about, like, for hackers and stuff like that.
Someone could hack in there because they're not going to be protecting it anymore.
So it sounds treacherous. Uh, so what else? I mean, so what do you do in this situation? What would I— what would be your advice for someone who's listened to the podcast, or someone who listened to the podcast and was like, I know somebody who uses QuickBooks point of sale, they should listen to this.
A good referral for us. I mean, we will—
so what should they do though?
I mean, call us up and set up an appointment. We do, we do offer free consultations.
Free consultations, right?
So it's no charge to talk, and then, you know, we talk to you. How do you use your point of sale? Is it linked up to your QuickBooks accounting program? Um, you know, what are your— what kind of needs do you have from a feature standpoint? And then, you know, we have 2, 3, 4 different retail point-of-sale, uh, systems, and then we can recommend you one that's gonna work well with your business type.
Or we can customize the solution, right?
Or we can recommend a customized solution. Some solutions are like out of the box, like this is what you get, this is all that it does. And then there are some solutions that are more customizable. From that standpoint. So, you know, it's, uh, you know, it's, it's, it's, it's easy to do to switch from one point of sale to another. And because all you do, you get your database out of there onto an Excel spreadsheet.
Yeah. And I, I mean, if you have QuickBooks Point of Sale, how difficult will that be to, to get your database after June— after October 1st?
Um, well, you're still going to have access to your files. They're not shutting that down, but they're not gonna— but you know, if something went wrong with it, you're not going to be able to get support.
There's no recovery, right?
So the time to, to time to get everything out of there is sooner than later. Now, right? And then, you know, and then figure out, you know, hey, what's your budget? You know, what features do you need? Um, right, things like that. Do you want to do cash discount, dual pricing where you don't pay for credit card processing? You know, what, what feature— you know, what features do you need in the point of sale? And then we figure out which point of sale product is going to work best for your, for your business. But it's easily done. We switch people off of that one time already and some other, some other different point of sale systems. And it's just basically, like I said, there's a database inside your point of sale. You download it all out of there and then you're done. Bing bong. And then you're still going to be able to work with QuickBooks, the accounting software, and link it to the point of sale.
Sounds like a winner to me.
So it's a very easy fix. I would not be waiting around for, uh, to, to the, to the last minute. Because they're, you know, we still have this chip shortage thing going on. Although I would say right now there's plenty of equipment out there, and there's plenty, plenty of equipment. But now's the time for businesses to make a change. You know, one of the worst things is I see a lot of people that use QuickBooks and a credit card machine on the side. You know, that could also be very dangerous after October because If anything happened to your database or anything happened to that equipment, you could lose all of your historical data that's in there. And that's why I say now is the time to get everything off of there and then get a new system and put it into your business.
All right, man. Well, I hope that answered anyone's questions about the end of life of those—
the questions that we're getting asked For the most part.
Yeah, man, most part.
Everything we have, we offer is PCI compliant. Everything has EMV, can take all the forms of payment— credit, debit, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Yo Mama Pay, everything.
Yeah, man. So if you do have any more questions about the QuickBooks End of Life Point of Sale System program that Nationwide Payment Systems is offering you can hit up Allen or myself and we will be gladly to divulge what information we have about it.
Right. We'll help you figure out what's the best solution for your business.
And customize it to your specific needs.
That's what we do. We provide business solutions for businesses.
You keep messing up the keyword. Customized business solutions.
Okay.
Customized. But also customized payment processing solutions or customized point-of-sale solutions. I have, you know, whatever. But yeah, man, if you need a custom payment solution and you're using QuickBooks Point of Sale and you didn't know, or you were under a rock, and, you know, I'm sure you got some emails from QuickBooks about we're not going to be supporting this.
No, they're sending out emails. They're sending out emails to everybody. It's all over the internet. They're letting people know because they don't want to have You know, they don't want to deal with it anymore. Yeah, they don't want to deal with it anymore.
Well, I don't want to deal with this podcast anymore. No, I'm just kidding. Uh, so yeah, man, I hope everybody got some, a little bit of info from that. You know, I wanted to put this up on YouTube because like I said, we were getting a lot of questions. So hopefully it helps. And if you do have any questions, leave it in the comments, hit up Allen or myself.
