Hi and welcome to the brand new auricular acupuncture course that I have set up on this platform to help those with limited skills but wanting to know more, and in order for them to be able to join the CNHC. So This is my introduction, and I just want to explain a few things to help you navigate through the, the platform. So the Teachable site is designed that you can click onto lectures, watch them automatically, download the handouts, and there is text embedded in the site which should contain instructions. In some cases I got a little carried away and put a bit of information in there as well, but don't worry, those bits of information will also be available for you to download on PDFs. There are not going to be introductions to each section as I have done with some of my other courses. I felt that the planning tool that you will be get sent to you, and it will be uploaded onto your study folder on Dropbox, will talk you through all the elements contained in this course, and I'm going to use it as a checklist as I film my final cuts, and you can use it as a checklist so you know where you've got with the information and what you need to do, and if something needs redoing, you can go back and find that at a later date. So what I want you to do is to start the course, work your way through the different sections. There are some practical elements embedded. One example is where there's a blank slide on the handout PowerPoint. That's because when I do my lecture, I will be annotating and using that blank sheet as a sort of whiteboard. So what I'd like you to do, you might want to watch once wind back and then do the practical exercise with me because most research shows that when you do practical things rather than just watching it helps the information to, to sink in better. Now you will be sent, or you have been sent, a silicone rubber ear and a set of needles. These needles are for you to use on your ear so So please don't throw them away. There's a limit to how many I can send out each time. You can reuse them, but not in yourself, and practice the different protocols, locate the points, try needling them. And at certain times I'm going to ask you to either needle an ear without looking, like a test, photograph it, upload onto Dropbox, draw an ear Mark the points, show me the navigation lines. You'll understand more about that when you get there. There are quizzes at the end of each section which I'd like you to complete. They're there, the questions are there because they're things that you should know, and if you have any issues with those, please reach out to me. You can do the quiz, I think I've given you 10 goes, There are 10 questions to a quiz and I think it's a 70% pass rate, but if I know you've completed them and you can let me know, I will be able to check your progress and see what you got wrong and help you. I am planning to do some weekly Q&As. There will be some specifically for this course because it's slightly different to the other 2, 3 courses that I do which are more designed for the cosmetic acupuncture facet of my business. So this is purely auricular and other microsystems It's not specific to beauty, it's for all sorts of different concerns, general health and otherwise. And on that subject, I am going to give you some bonus material which will be more about traditional Chinese medicine syndromes. That kind of information, um, I'm being— is being filmed for the Tongue Diagnosis course, but I feel it's really more about you having what you need to be amazing at this. So Not all of you are acupuncturists with a TCM background. Some of you are, but others are not. And so I just want to empower you as much as I can with a little bit about Chinese syndromes and therefore why some of the points or meridian points, if you like, from the TCM chart would really make a difference. So just to recap, you work your way through the video You do the exercises, you create other things if you're inspired to do so. You will be given— there's an instruction video on how to upload onto Dropbox which I will put onto this site, so you should see that in this particular module. You will upload your information and I will go in there and mark it at different times of day and comment. I will be doing weekly Q&As one for you, one for my beauty cohort, and you can either come on and join. I won't be recording these sessions, they are really for those that want to come on live, and obviously because it's going to be a meeting we'll see who you are, so it's not fair for me to publish that, but there will be opportunities for you as well to speak to me privately if you need to do so. Anything else? No, I think that's pretty much covered it. Please enjoy this course and I'm here to help. Oh yes, there was one more thing. Once you've completed the course, I need you to let me know that you've been issued with your teachable certificate. That's my trigger to issue you with yours. However, I have added 4, and I'm putting 4 down at the minute. If I feel we need more, there'll be more. 4 clinical days live online with me, because what I want to do is actually go through the process of the experience of doing consultation with either another person on Zoom or someone in your household. We'll probably match you up on Zoom first and then find a body for you to work on live, and I will be assessing you all the way through. And if and only when you are confident— there is no reason, provided I can see what you're doing, so you're going to need a phone or something that someone can hold so I can see a close-up or webcam, I'm happy for you to start doing this acupuncture because it's really something that people need right now during a pandemic. The CNHC is allowing us to continue to work because we are— I think at last the message has got through to whoever the government bodies are that they're talking to that perhaps we do play a valuable role in mental health and support during what will be a prolonged pandemic now. So once we've done some clinical and you tell me you're confident and I see that you are, then I will let you go off and do your case studies all by yourself. So the first one or two will be supervised by me online, and then we'll get together on our weeklies and I will certify you when I get those 25 sessions in. Everything will be explained. If I haven't uploaded some of those documents, I will do. But I think it's pretty well concise now and I'll be in touch. So stand by. I will write to you and I will publish on the website in the events section these sessions. And it will clearly state that you have to be a student to attend them. All right, so until I see you again, enjoy. Bye.
