Get ready, because everything is about to change. There's a new way of living life and doing business that will blow your mind. This is a podcast all about the timing of life and the timing of success. It's what we call the Right on Time life. And you are listening to the Right on Time podcast with Amber McHugh. Hey. Hey. So excited to be here with you today for workshop two in our Plan, Profit and scale event that we are hosting. One week, five separate workshops with some bonus activities next week and some evening Q A sessions. And yesterday we were looking at strategy, looking at the mindset and things that we need to think about and as we position our businesses and ourselves for growing businesses. And today, in just about three minutes, we are going to be diving into workshop two, the no mess Scale up plan and what to do now to scale and grow. But I just wanted to hop on a couple minutes early and say hello, get this party started. So stinking pumped. Laura, great to see you. Jean Marie, great to see you. From New York, we've got Utah in the house. Cerebral cinema, movies of the mind. That is so intriguing. Actually, I saw your comment before I went live. I'm like, I gotta check that out. I made a little note already and pulled up your Instagram to check it out. So great to be here. We're gonna let people hop on. Give people a couple more minutes before we dive in. Let us know where you're coming at, what you're drinking today. I still have coffee going. I refilled about 10 minutes ago. Oh, oh, oh. Yesterday we also had. I just. My Internet just. It's like, oh, you're going live and you want to connect with people. We want to slow you down a little bit. So it was a little glitchy. So we're trying something different. My husband came up here and did something, so I did that. Grabbed my coffee while he was setting that up. Oh, hey, Melissa, Great to see you. Fort Worth. Oh, so fun. Come on. From all over. Yes, today is going to be so good. It's one of my favorite topics and transitions to make. We reflect, we get strategic. This is still strategic, but it's going to start to pull the strategy and the tactics together. So I'm super pumped for today's workshop and I'd love to know if you have something specific you are looking to get out of this week. Let us know that in the chats too. We asked the same question in the Facebook group and I went through and read that. I'm like, okay, cool, we've got that covered. Oh, let me make sure I cover that. Because this is live, we can be personal. We can connect on exactly what you need to grow your business. And honestly, that's the way we like to do our business teaching agency. And in our modern CEO program, we customize things. We keep it personal. In fact, just this morning, I was replying to some messages on the hotline. The hotline is a direct connect that my clients and I have. So I was replying and checking on some things there and thinking through some responses. Because it's personal. Your business growth and your success is personal. Directly impacts what you are creating and doing in your life overall. So I love to know where we can personalize things and make it unique for you. Oh, Melissa's drinking summer romance tea from her favorite tea shop. Oh, my gosh. That sounds delightful. Hey, Tanya, Good to see you again. Yes, Malia, I immediately thought of you. And Melissa shared that location. That's so fun. Oh, my gosh. I'm gonna give it just 30 more seconds and then we are going live. Whoa, whoa. Sorry, I didn't mean to do that. There we go. Oh, it's so fun to be here with you. 30 seconds counting down. Hey, Shan. Great to see you. Oh, so fun. Hey, Jasmine. All right, Joanna. Another New York in the house. Loving it. I'm in Chicago today. It is. Boy, I finally warm out. And in yesterday's Q A, Stephanie and I were talking. We had the evening Q a session at 7pm we'll have another one tonight, same place. You can come right back here at 7pm Eastern if you are awake and available for that. Hey, Trudy. And Stephanie shared. She was sitting on her front podcast, front porch with the Q and A and it's gorgeous out and like, oh, I'm getting out there. As soon as the Q and A was over and I spent about an hour outside with the girls throwing a ball around. So we had a lot of fun enjoying that fresh air and it is gorgeous outside today. And so we got a couple good things shaken today. We are here to make some magic and to talk through and build your no mess scale up plan to seven. Beyond seven, maybe it's just 100,000 or 500,000. You get to set the goal, you get to set the target because you are in the driver's seat. As we grow this business, I simply call shotgun to support you and guide you and read the map and double check things to ensure we are on track to get to our destination. So today is a little bit about that. As I mentioned, when we kicked off this live in our little pre party session there yesterday, it was more about strategic and the mindset that we need to start to embrace and think through as we step into scaling and growing our businesses. Today we're going to marry that mindset, that strategy with more strategy. But we're going to get tactical. We're going to get specific today in workshop two of our Plan, Profit and Scale series series. So welcome. So happy to be here with you. If you are by chance joining us today and you didn't join us yesterday, stay here with us. No worries. This workshop can operate totally independently. Then you can go check out the live replay for or the replay from yesterday's live workshop as well. So you are in the right place. You're right on time to step into the no mess scale up plan which is planned for today. As I mentioned, we've also got that 7pm oh my gosh, I'm throwing things around. Wrong pen. We've got that 7pm Q&A session, same place and we've got more workshops planned, same time, 1pm U.S. eastern throughout the week. So mark your calendar if you haven't already. We're going to dive into some good stuff and continue to build upon each day so you have a solid plan at the end of this week to profit and scale and to know what your strategy is around both of those. It's going to look different for all of us because no business is one size fits all. We can look at different models, we can look at different approaches. But when you start to elevate and step into what I am inviting you to step into your modern CEO role, you're going to be able to better align strategies in the market for where you want to be going, where you create the vision for your business and align the strategies and the tactics with that. So a few other quick links. We are here on the live page. All sorts of good resources for you over@amber McHugh.com Links we are hosting tomorrow a private VIP workshop that we'd love to invite you to where we're going to build out your one page business plan. Plus I mentioned that direct access. I was replying to some hotline inquiries. You'll get two weeks of access on the hotline to ask your questions privately directly to me via the hotline. So you can sign up for that still at PPS VIP Amber McKee.com forward/ppsvip and don't forget to grab your bingo card. So if you have not grabbed your workbook yet, the Workbook is over here on the links page. And it looks a little something like this. Oh, oh, oh. You can skip ahead to today. Here's today's workshop page. Oh, I'm not sharing my screen. Oh, my gosh, look at that. Here we go. Here we go. There we go. We've got a full workbook for you, a companion workbook. And at the back of that workbook, you will find your bingo card. Because we are playing to win this week. We're playing to win the grand prize winner, who I'm hoping we pick on Friday. When someone calls bingo, the grand prize winner is getting a bundle of items. Print, Fresh start workbook, a strategy session with me, all sorts of swag, all sorts of good stuff. And then everyone has the opportunity to be entered to win. And we're going to pick out one winner for each of these items when you call bingo. So here's that sample of that bingo card that's at the back of the workbook. There are all sorts of things you could have circled already yesterday, anything in blue you could have circled and adding today, these items in yellow. So I'm really excited. We're going to make it all the way to Friday. I'm going to see people calling bingo all over the place. And we're going to have our grand prize winner on Friday. I'm hoping. I'm hoping for a Friday bingo winner. And then next week we will do the drawings for multiple winners. So people are catching up on replays. You still have time. If you're watching at a different time of day, you still have time. Do not worry. Another South Africa. Amazing. Oh, my gosh. So good. So good. So now let's dive into today's topic to build your no winner mess scale up plan. Your no mess scale up plan. So I have a question for you. Does your business tend to operate more like a slot machine or. Well, actually, let's break down, let's break it down. What is a business that operates more like a slot machine? You put money in, you invest in a tactic, you invest in a strategy. You see a strategy online, you're like, oh, let me try that. Let me put some money in my. In my pot. Big money, baby. Big money. I'm going to put all this effort in. I'm hoping it'll pay off. I'm hoping, right, maybe you get results, maybe you don't. I'm not really sure. And yes, there is a season in all of our businesses where we're going to be like, I don't know, I Don't know. But your business can't operate like that forever. Of course we'll get into that. So does your business go for big money? Make a bet constantly just putting it in without real strategy or, or a plan around it. Lots of offers. People can't keep that. You do because like I don't know what she's doing now. She's got this, she's got that. Are we, is this her target audience? Am I, I thought, I thought she, I thought she had stuff for me. Oh no, she's doing that other thing that I don't even know. I can't keep track. Are you always trying new tactics and new messages, never getting traction because things, the time they need to work. We talked yesterday about staying the course. We want to get the market and do something different so we stand out in a crowded marketplace. But we've got to give things time. So can you relate to operating like a slot machine in your business? Big money, baby, big money. And then maybe, maybe not. Or does your business operate more like the ATM machine? Now let's face it, the ATM does not always have cash available for you. Or said another way, the bank may not always have cash available for us to pull out, but we can check on that. We can have awareness of that. It's predictable and sustainable. There's consistency. Even if we don't always have the cash to pull out. We have visibility into a plan, we have visibility into whether it is working or not. When your business operates more like the ATM machine, you've got a strong offer. In fact, you've got one strong offer that you can take to market consistently and introduce and invite people to purchase. This is relevant for a product based business or a service based business. We want an anchor. We want an anchor in our business. Something that we can go back to that is consistent and steady when we get these systems in place for our business. It's easier to set up systems when you've got one clear offer. When you've got that in place, it's easier to get systems in place for that. Does your business operate like an ATM machine in that you have one message and one clear way to attract new clients? Even if you're like, oh, that's what I want, I'm not there yet. Right, we can start, we can start with one clear path to get there and we're going to talk about that one clear path. We've got people who can relate to the slot machine. Yes, unfortunately, that's all right. We got a plan to get into ATM mode This also represents a difference between Business A, who had a messy marketer leading their company for a long time, and Business B, who had a modern CEO approach to leading their company for a long time. Now, these two businesses, Business A and Business B, were two different businesses, but they had the same leader. They had the same leader, and they ran their businesses differently as well. 1. In one company, the business leader operated more like the messy marketer and the Business B leader, same person, but the leader operated more like the modern CEO. Can you guess which business grew faster, more seamlessly, with more ease, more strategically? I could go on and on. Right? I love that. Shaw, you recognize that I'm mostly a slot machine, but I'm moving to those ATM moments more and more often. That's what we want to see. We want to see those transitions. And if you guessed that the business with a modern CEO grew faster, you are indeed right. The business with a modern CEO grew at least three times faster. I'm going to have to check that now and redo that math because I think this has shifted now. See, the beauty of stepping into a modern CEO role sooner or later rather than later, is that you're going to get the benefit of it sooner rather than later as well. If we stay in that messy marketer mode, we might inch up slowly over time. So the sooner we step into that modern CEO role, the sooner we are going to get the gains of it. So this is why I'm inviting you to consider, how am I showing up? Am I running my business like it's a slot machine, or am I running my business in a predictable, consistent way? Most people that I see running a business, even people who've ran a business for a long time, like, oh my gosh, this is messy. You are making this really hard. And these are the business owners who may have businesses for a long time, but they're not seeing the growth that they want. And the whole way it is, it's a struggle. If it's not a struggle, it's a pain in the butt. We just made that acronym up, Pain in the butt. It doesn't make them happy. Right. They try to bring kids in, and then their kids are like, I don't want to do that. I saw what that did to you for your entire life. So we want to focus to accelerate that growth. And stepping into the modern CEO role is about focusing. We talked yesterday about what am I going to place the bet on? How many cars can I drive at once? How many cars can I drive at once? One car, Not a Trick question. And if we are hopping in and out of cars, in and out of cars, back and forth, that's going to take us a whole lot longer to get to our destination than if we get in one car. We identified where we want to be going, the road we're going to take to get there. And I'm going to take this blue car and I'm going to drive it all the way to my destination while somebody else is still hopping in and out of cars behind you. I haven't decided. Oh, green, red. No, that black. Oh, yeah, that's really. I really like that black car. Oh, man. No, no, no, no. Not the. No, don't want that one. Oh, my gosh. Versus when you make a decision and you stay the course and we go and we are strategic and we operate like a modern CEO. This is how you fly by. This is how you look up and you're like, where did this person come from? They're an overnight success. Of course. I showed you yesterday in the replay what that overnight success journey looked like. It was years in the making. Right. But you look up and you're like, how did they get there? How did they get there? They have a plan. They're operating like the modern CEO, and they're strategic about building their CEO systems, their sales systems, and the client success systems, but we don't. Oh, my gosh. Melissa, I'm so glad that you are getting clarity and focus this morning. So, so, so glad. I was thinking of you today. So we're going to start by identifying what stage of business you are at, because so often, so very often, someone will try to do all the things. You don't need to do all the things right now in your business. There are a small number of things that you need to be doing to. To move your business forward based on where you are and where you want to be going. Right. But you're the business owner. You are leading us forward. You have to design and decide that. And when we look outside and we just let external factors like. I'm gonna try that. I'm gonna try that. They said DMs best. Oh, I'm gonna try that TikTok strategy. Oh, wait. Pinterest is the place to be. Whoa. Right? We've gotta focus. We've gotta center on our strategy, your vision, and the plan that we're going to take to get to our destination. And it starts where it starts with where we are right now. So I'm going to blow that slide up. Yes, Good. I'm glad we're starting to identify what do I need right now. And props out to you, Trudy, for publishing your first full course on Teachable this morning. Oh, my gosh, Congrats. Love seeing those wins come in when we are in this space together. So our first step in deciding what path we're going to take, what we need to be doing to get to our destination. And you may have a vision that is a little bit murky right now. It's a little bit out of focus. It's like when we look into the distance. I want to be going over there. That's where I'm going. But it's a bit of a mirage. It's a bit glimmer. It glimmers and shimmers and we can't fully see see it. That's okay. Whatever your vision is right now, even if it's not crystal clear, when we start taking steps toward it, it's going to get clearer and clearer and clearer. It might shift a little, it might morph a little. So whatever the vision is right now is perfect. That's what we're driving towards. But it's a little bit far away. It's a little bit murky. So we got to back it up. And we have to start with where we are right now. Now. And we are already seeing in the comments. I love it. What stage of business are you at right now? Startup. No sales yet or a couple sales to friends, family? This idea. This is where we are when we're just starting out. I remember this so clearly in both of my businesses. I remember so clearly my first coaching client. I do not consider myself a coach. I sometimes use coaching methodologies, but I'm more of a consultant. But I was pursuing a coaching path for a period of time with the MBA program I was in. I thought, oh, I don't want to do business. I'm kind of over business. I was doing a lot of business in corporate. I was doing a lot of business slash personal development in my MBA program. And I thought I wanted to go the life coaching path. But in every single conversation I was having around life coaching with my first clients, with the methodology I had built and developed, like, I want to talk about business too. So I realized, like, okay, I'm going to start to shift and morph this plan. But we're starting with where we are and more will be revealed as we move ahead in the photography business. It truly started with me as our first person that we ever shot. Like, oh, we got a business here. This is fun. Friends want this Family wants this and it took us years to identify and shape. How will this actually become a business that we can scale up with intimacy. Scalable intimacy is something we talk about a lot inside the modern CEO. So are you at that startup phase? We've got some people who are at that ramp up phase where you've got solid products or services. Defined sales are coming in, even if slowly. That's all right. We're still ramping up. We're kind of flying by the seat of our pants, but it's working. We think this is going to be the thing. It is working. We're getting indicators that we're on the right path. I got this. I remember so clearly that moment. I'm like, I don't know when, I don't know how, but it's happening, it is happening. Then we've got scale up. Okay, now we're starting to see some consistent sales coming in. Whether it's your referral network that's working, whether you have a launch model that consistently works and performs for you, you're starting to potentially see the value of, okay, I need to bring on a team. If you haven't already brought on some team, this is the stage. And we're like, okay, all right, I can get more leverage if I can get some help here and be strategic about what I'm doing and where I'm spending my time. And then at our CEO up level, oh, yeah, it's working. I've got this down. It's a hard thing to really admit, like, oh, it's working. It's working. Because even I shared yesterday, For 10 years, I was like, I don't think this is. I don't know. I don't know if this is really going to keep working. I don't know if this is going to keep working. It's working. But will it keep working? Okay, at some point we got to get those CEO systems in place if you did not already. And we've got to level up and be more strategic if we're going to have sustainability and joy in our business. So we want to shift from doing all of the things to doing the most important things for where you are now to get you traction down that road to your destination. In fact, Alida, some of you, Shay, have heard me say this before. Hi, Jennifer. At the ramp up stage. Love it. You've heard me say this before, right? It's the Pareto principle. 80% of what we do is not contributing to the results that we want. 20% of what we do gets us 80% of our results in our business. Now, will we sometimes test something that we don't know if it's going to work or not? Right? Yeah, absolutely. We're going to go through seasons of testing, but we really want to get this 20% that's working dialed in as quickly as possible so we can start to get you traction as you ramp up the business. So we are not doing this. The faster you step into that modern CEO role and start running your business like a modern CEO, the faster we're going to get you to your goal and your end destination. So. So what do I need to do? Based on the stage I am at, what do I need to focus on? Now, I know that some of you have heard this before. I want to invite you to reassess what your focus needs to be right now and take this opportunity to identify if you're focusing on something that you do not need to worry about right now. Everything right on time. We're rehearing this or hearing this for the first time. Right on time. We're reassessing right on time and getting back down our road in our car to our destination. So for those of you at the CEO upstage, give us a shout out in the comments if that is you and you're at the CEO upstage, because this message is for you. At each stage, I'm going to identify three things that I want you to prioritize and start to think about for your business to get you that momentum. Scale up. Today feels so messy. Oh, I get it. You know, I also want to add before we dive into what happens at each stage and what you may want to be focusing on each stage, per my recommendation here with my consulting hat on, sometimes we're working the stairs. Right. I am certainly operating in CEO up in my business. Right. In my photography business. Right. And sometimes, like, oh, we're introducing a new offer. Whoa. I feel like I'm going back to startup mode. We're thinking about introducing a new offer. Oh, I am definitely in startup mode because I'm exploring what's the right thing, what's the right approach. We decided on an approach at the beginning of the year. And then just a couple months ago, we were percolated on it. We're strategizing on it. It's something we want to implement by October. We're like, actually, there's something we can do sooner to test the idea. Right. So if you're percolating on something, if you feel like, I thought I was at scale up now, I'm running the stairs. That's okay. We're just getting our exercise. We're flexing those CEO muscles, but we're strategic about it. We're not like, oh, my gosh, all over the place. I could have went a lot more spinny with that, but I didn't get dizzy because it feels cool. Absolutely overwhelming when we don't have a plan in place, but when we are strategic. All right, I'm working the stairs. I have awareness that I am working the stairs, and I'm going to step back into startup for a minute. So with your CEO up now, you're like, oh, wait, but I'm stepping into startup. We got you there, too. So here we go. With our CEOs up, there is beauty in knowing if we're on the stairs, you can move to that CEO stage much faster. Every time you bring in something new, you. That's so well said. If you are working the stairs and have the plan and have that awareness, it's going to get much easier much faster. So at the CEO up level, we're going to lead, Right? And what does that mean, to lead? Well, it's an ambiguous term, right? I'm going to lead. What do I do when I lead? And it can get challenging and it can get complicated. So often I've had CEOs say to me, okay, I've kind of got my systems in place, I've got my structures in place. I've freed up some time. Now what? And this is a case where someone might go back into wheel spinning mode. You're like, okay, we did all of these things. Oh, gosh, okay. Now I'm seeing all these other things I could be doing. So we've got to kind of check ourselves to stay at that leadership level. But we look at, what are you doing to lead your business forward? What conversations do you need to be having with people to scale and grow your business? And part of this also means that you're going to get some space. There's going to be some space in your schedule to figure out that bigger picture for your business. Right. You need time to carve out to potentially speak to investors. Time to learn about how to lead. Time to learn and invest in your talent, invest in your team. If you're building a team. Time to invest in your clients. You know, we talk about tomorrow, we're going to talk about some of the mistakes modern CEOs make and entrepreneurs make. And one of the mistakes, I call it the myth of the visionary. I'm the visionary. I have to get out of the weeds. There's more to leading this business than stepping into that visionary role and getting out of the weeds. The best and leading modern CEOs know when to play the visionary role and know what else they should be doing. And I'll deep dive into that tomorrow too. So you've got to have that space. Do you need to define your exit strategy? Are you communicating the big picture with your team? Are you having meetings with your team? Are you having meetings with your clients? Clients? Are you creating a customer advisory board? Are you talking to partners? What is that? What should I be doing? What do I need to be learning? What is our strategy here? Who do I need to communicate my strategy to? And you have to nurture culture. Culture defines how we connect and communicate with our team, with our clients, with, within our brand. Right. So there's a lot that we need to be thinking about and doing and it can be such an awkward. Oops, I always misspell awkward. I should not have wrote that word. It's such an awkward thing to make this shift from startup mode. Right. Each stage is kind of tricky to navigate out because it requires that you show up differently. And we're breaking down here what you need to think about and do at each stage of the business. Now we're stepping into scale up. So if you're at that scale up stage, give us a shout out in the comments so we know that we're talking to you and we can personalize this. And you're going to want to write down these three things that you need to be focused on at the scale up level. I don't want you necessarily worried about culture yet. You're going to think about it. It's in the back of your mind, right. You might percolate on it and make some notes when things come up. Right. You're going to have space in your calendar, but not as much yet because you're still focused on scale up activities. Now at the scale up stage, we are informed about what our ideal clients are looking for. Awesome. We've got our scale ups in the comments. Love it. Tanya, Shan, we got you at the scale up phase. Now we know enough about our ideal clients and what they're looking for. We've tested, we've tweaked, we've got this working. So now we want to fine tune. When people invest in branding too early on, or if you invest in branding early on, you're going to find you might want to make some changes here because we've got some things dialed in. We've got some clarity now. Okay. We're getting closer to that point of our vision becoming reality. So the mirage, the murkiness is fading. So we're going to fine tune our messaging. We may also be hiring, training a team. Right. Who do I need to help me with what? What do we need to be doing and who's going to do it is another way to restate that as we're scaling up. And we may at this point start to focus on profitability. So if at other stages, we were investing a good bit, testing ideas. Right at the beginning of this workshop and when you came to this workshop, we said, we're going to talk about profit, right? Plan, profit and scale. And I want to pause and recognize that as we move through our business, we may not be as worried about profit at any given time because we're investing in testing, improving an idea in the United States. The tax agency here doesn't expect us to be profitable in our businesses for three to five years. So there is a window of time. We're like, okay, I'm not making as much as I want to be making. Now. We may not be where we want to be in terms of profitability, but I always want us to be thinking about it. I always want us to be thinking about our revenue plan. I always want us to have an eye on, okay, if this is the offer I'm building, if this is what I have to deliver to my clients, how many clients do I need to be working with to hit my revenue target? This is the offer, this is the price, this is the product, this is the price, this is how many people I may be serving, and this will get me to my revenue goal. When we put revenue goals in place for our business, it's going to unlock a lot. In fact, in the Q and A last night definitely comes the Q and A. Today, if you're like, wait, Q, Q and A, there's a lot going down there. There is a lot going down. We've got one more Q and A Tuesday night at 7pm U.S. eastern. So bring your questions. But we unlocked this idea that I've got this offer. I've got this idea. I'm testing this. I'm getting clients. There's something there. I don't know how to make it scalable. Okay, wait, let's go back to your revenue plan because your revenue plan is going to unlock more ideas on our path toward our destination. And it's going to reveal like, okay, it's not as scalable as I wanted. It's not going to be as profitable as I wanted. It's going to take more of my time than I want. Okay, so I'm going to update my revenue plan, then I'm going to go back and I'm going to tweak the offer. The same thing is going to happen on the marketing side. When we're looking at marketing strategies that we're going to implement, we're going to be strategic about it, we're going to know our numbers, it's going to start to become a crystal ball for our business. And at the scale up stage, your crystal ball is starting to form and we are able to identify and set clearer profit goals. Oh, so good. I'm a designer and I say don't worry about mark the marks until you've established how you move and have some traction. So good, so good, so good. Now we're going to move to the ramp up stage. I know we had a lot of ramp ups in the comments. Give us a shout out if you are at that ramp up up stage because this is for you. And this is when our focus starts to shift to creating some repeatable systems on that legion. At this point we're going to have leads in place. We shared like, okay, we moved from startup where we've got a proven offer but it's working. Now we're starting to get some of that traction. Right? We know what works, we know what the messaging is. From that startup stage, we've got an inkling that we are in the right direction. So now we've got to take it up to get more leads in so we can sell that startup offer to more people, get more clients. Right. This is really what we want to be focused on here and that ramp up phase, I want more clients, I need to build a system around this. I need more sales. I want to automate and optimize as much as I can. There are definitely, depending on our business model is going to be some things that are more personal. Right. This is not automated. I am here live and I love it. So it doesn't mean that everything's going to be on autopilot. I'm going to go to sleep now. It's all going to work. Have a great workshop. Oh my gosh. Right. It doesn't necessarily work like that, but we'll be able to automate and optimize so we can build reliable consistent monthly sales. Maybe you're doing a launch model so your sales may come in one time per year, two times per year, three times per year, but your revenue May be consistent and we can talk. We're going to talk about that on Thursday in Thursday's workshop. And we go deeply into that in our client success systems in scalable intimacy Inside the modern CEO. The other thing at Ramp up that we want to look at is delivery. And these are almost in order. If we are looking at ramp up. Right. And actually each stage, they're kind of in order for how I want you to prioritize in each stage. So we get really focused on the Ramp up. Right. On each stage of what we need to do and the roadmap for that delivery, fine tuning how you deliver your product or your service. You know, at startup, we're putting some of that in place, but I don't want you in startup to worry about getting all of that in place because we're still taking testing. Right. In my consulting business, the first client I worked with, I had a framework in place, but I didn't have everything built out. Right. We're going to build with scale in mind to the extent that you see your business scaling up and talk more about that too. So now at the Ramp up stage, we've proven it. We've got our clients. Okay. We've got leads coming in. We've got our system for sales in place. Now I need to streamline this delivery model even more because it could impact my sales because it's going to start to impact customer retention. So these are in order. And let me say that each stage, you may be at each of these stages for a significant period of time. This is not a race to the finish line. And again, we might be making some steps up and down those stairs. Okay. Don't worry. We're not racing. We're not judging what stage you are at or where you are or the adjustments you are making. We are absolutely not judging how fast you get there. Right. Wherever there will be for you. But we can align strategies with how fast you want to get to a destination or a stop on your way to the destination. Our strategies might shift and adjust based on if we want fast cash right now or if, no, I'm going for scale. I don't want the fast cash. But I want to build this in a way that doesn't take a lot of my time. It's one, it's, it's not one size fits all. It's personal. So we'll design each of these phases based on your goals, your business, your vision, and then at the startup phase, build it. We have to build that offer. We have to build some of the marketing materials that we're going to use to start to sell, sell that offer. I want to invite you to do this in an MVP way. This is something from the lean startup concept and it stands for minimum viable product, minimum viable offer, minimum viable marketing, minimum viable sales strategy. When you are in build mode, you and we're testing and we're tweaking and we're starting to step toward the path to our vision that's still a little bit murky. I'm kind of tested and trying some things. It is okay to what is minimum viable product? We want to stay out of perfectionism mode and we want to stay in progress mode and we really want to make sure we get in action and get up on out of the rocking chair that is just rocking and it is not making progress toward your actual destination. We want to sell it. You got to tell people about that offer that you built, right? If we are going to get it in front of people, if we're going to make progress with this, we have to sell it and tell people about it. Does anyone get scared at this stage? Stage? Does anyone get a little bit worried? How do I make that transition? How do I invite people to buy this without it feeling awkward? We'll practice it, we'll talk about it, we'll build strategies about this for sure. And tell this is the marketing side. Setting up your email, right? Setting up your social media channels and taking action to communicate through them. All of these things happen in our startup phase. All of these things happen in our startup phase. So in summary of this section of our workshop, I wanted to bring back and identify those three things that you need to focus on when we're growing and scaling and building your business. Not all the things. If you are in startup mode and you are spending a lot, a lot, a lot of time on culture. Back it up, back it up, back it up, back it up. You already have inherent values, right? We do, in the Fresh Start workbook and inside the modern CEO have space to define those values. But I don't want you spending a ton of time on that yet because there are other things we need to spend our attention on now. Same thing. If I am scaling up my sales and delivery model, I'm not totally going to focus on right hiring just yet. Unless the hiring supports the sales and delivery. Maybe it's consulting, right? Maybe you're bringing in someone temporary for a project. We do that all the time. All the time. So identify. Okay, what am I focused on right now? What need? What do I need to Be focused on right now and what can go, what can I hit pause on? What am I doing that is not going to support me and in the growth of my business right now based on where I am in my business. Right on time. Alita, you cannot be late. Shan. Yes. I love it. I'm so happy to hear these right on time checkpoints. I'm just going to take a peek here at the chat to see if I'm missing anything else right now in terms of questions that are coming up or comments. Looking good. Right on time. This is where I am ramp up for sure. Moving to scale up. Love it, love it, love it, love it. Oh, so good. Oh my gosh, so good. Okay, so I mentioned a couple of times how we pull through these activities inside the Modern CEO. And I directly pulled out a page of our Modern CEO roadmap and this before I flip to the page, I want to give you some some scoop on what this is. The Modern CEO roadmap is going to identify inside the Modern CEO. What step do I need to be taking when based on the stage I'm at, when do I flip to the next activity and where do I start? So we're going to just pop into this real quick now. So if you're at the startup stage, what we just talked about is that you are going to start with sales systems to build, sell and tell people about your business. If you were at the ramp up stage, I'm also going to invite you to go to sales systems. I want to do a pulse check to ensure you have everything in place and this is where we're going to start to optimize. So if you're at ramp up, you're going to be able to fly through some of these sales systems because you already have some of it in place. But we're going to take it a level deeper for you at the ramp up stage. Then at the scale up stage, you're actually going to start with client success systems. We talked about how you will start to fine tune your delivery model, but here we're going to really massage that delivery model and identify how all of the pieces of your business come together to support your clients. The reason we're in business anyway, right, the reason we are here right now is for your clients. You can deliver your products and and services to them and we're going to fine tune that and marry up the pieces of your business with your customer experience in mind, your five star customer experience in mind. So we're going to reset on some things, massage some things, fine tune some things and improve some things. Then of course we're going to move through some next level activities with our million dollar marketing plan and preparing to CEO up. And there are many things throughout that are woven in here. We're working the stairs so we're going to come back to some things. But there's a priority order here and then CEO up, CEO systems all day all the way. We want to ground in our CEO systems and then we're going to identify what our personalized roadmap is as we go through and enhance and improve our the running of our business so it doesn't take up all of our time so we can continue to automate and scale up and optimize. Right. So we continue that growth trajectory long term in a sustainable way. But some things happen. Oh, I think there's some new comments popping up. I want to make sure I don't miss these. Great. Oh, so good. Now there's some danger signs right as we are on this path and we are headed down this road to your end, destiny destination, you are in the driver's seat. There might be some things that come up on our road trip together. I will bring the playlist, I will bring the music so that we can navigate these things a little bit easier as we go down this path together. But we really want to be mindful at that startup phase of perfectionism, right? We really want to be careful to not say, oh, it's not ready yet, it's not ready yet, it's not ready yet. Where do I start? Who do I start with? We have to make a decision yesterday. Decide where you are going to place your bet and stay the course. Decide where you're going to place your bet. The next thing I want to warn you of at our ramp up stage is not trying to boil the ocean. This is the stage. Let me know if any of these danger zones that you've experienced experienced before or if they resonate with you. I laugh as I go through these because I'm like, oh, I remember. Oh yeah, that's me. That's me. Right as I run the stairs. I remember. That's me. I see it. We're in it. You are not alone. Don't try and boil the ocean. Especially at that ramp up stage. It's working. This is where we can get a lot of overwhelm coming in. Okay. It's kind of working. My idea solidified. Now what? I've got a whole lot of options for how I can market it. I've got a whole lot of options for where my people might be hanging out. We've really got to focus in here and make sure we are not boiling the ocean because trying to boil the ocean is simply going to water down your strategy for growth and it's going to slow you down from reaching your destination. So really, I encourage you to focus in here and keep yourself in one car. Coach yourself back to getting in that one car and staying the course. Scale up. Okay. There's this moment in time at scale up. We're like, okay, it's working, but I think I built it wrong. Or it's working, but I'm bored. Do not burn it down. Resist the urge to burn it down. Because we get so caught up in this, right? We're swirling up, we're swirling up and there's a lot swirling. And now I'm asking you to enjoy what you are building. I want us to find joy in it all along the way. But at the scale up stage, there's this like, oh, it's, it's working. I'm getting a little bit bored. What do I do now? I've been doing the same thing and it's working. You've been doing the same thing. It's working. Please don't burn it down. I've had to beg some clients. I'm like, no, no, no, stay the course. Because this is what you have been working towards. And it is weird, right? It is weird and awkward and it feels funny to make this shift into like, oh, okay, this is what I've been working on. And yes, and you deserve, and you have earned the right to enjoy it and start to think, okay, a little bit bigger than myself and how, okay, how am I feeling? We've got more people to take care of now. How do I take care of more people without it being all of my time? Right? So we've got to find this balance in here. And I want you to, to resist the urge to burn it down. We make, we're going to make tweaks, we're going to make adjustments. We might make shifts and pivots, but you have built a strong foundation at the time that you get to that scale up stage. And we're going to keep working it. There are so many ways we can leverage what you have built. And you're going to lead it and you're going to think differently and you're going to start to show up differently in your business. Now, I invite you to show up differently in your business from the beginning because this is going to start to get us that trajectory that we want, but it's really going to start to shift and change in here. You're really going to start to feel it and to understand, oh, this is what I have been working towards. Yes, yes, yes, yes. You will embody it. If you let yourself make this jump from scale up to CEO up, you will start to embody it. Not just go. Oftentimes I felt like it's startup. I'm just going through the steps. Okay. We said we need this exercise plan. It's like this, the exercise of running our business. So I'm working these stairs, I'm working these steps that we've got. Oh, but now I just know it. I just do it. I have embodied it. And that's what we're stepping towards as we move up. Okay. We got some soul sisters in the chat. I love it. Yes, yes. You're resonating with that. Resist the urge to burn it down. So good. We grew up thinking it was hard and we keep spinning. We put ourselves right back in it. Right. We're not creating another job for ourselves, but the way that we go at this, we are absolutely creating another job for ourselves. Unless you now step into that modern CEO role and you will see the benefits from it. We're already hitting on this, but mindset is everything. Mindset is everything as we are moving through this journey together. So I want to invite you to embrace a couple of ideas and mantras for your stage of business. Startups. We gotta start before we are ready. I'm not ready. It's not ready. The market's not ready. Oh, my gosh. The things I told myself that slowed me down. Messy marketer versus modern CEO. And I see the difference of this mindset that was holding me back in the two businesses that I ran. That modern CEO versus messy marketer case study was me in my two different businesses. If you did not already guess that, I need to confess that. So start before you're ready. Let's go. But we've got to make that decision. What are we going towards? What are we going down? We talked last night. Don't sit down at the computer and just start scrolling. No, don't just go. Pause to put the plan together. Pause to get intentional on the path that you're going down. But definitely start before you feel ready. Ramp up. There's a little bit of a slowdown to speed up feeling here because we want to get your marketing and your sales strategy ramped up. You got to pause. You got to build some of it. You've got to pull in what you learned at the startup phase and weave it into the ramp up stage. So this stage feels frustrating because like I'm right there, I am right there. And yes, you are right there. There. It's going to be unlocked. In fact, on a Modern CEO Open Studio call last week, I had a client share that she it was exceeding her goals for the month, so she bumped them up. She's like, I'm gonna go a little bigger with my goals because I'm feeling this. And we asked her on that Modern CEO consulting call, what did you do? Like, what prompted this little rev in? She's like, I did everything that we talked about and everything you told me to. And very specifically that was keep going, keep going. Please don't stop, please don't strange your strategy because you're right there. And she was asking, what should I be doing different? I'm like, nothing, nothing. You're doing all the right things. She built the plan. Stay the course, stay the course. And she did. And three months later, she was seeing the benefits of that. Scale up trust and be open to the possibility. This gets a little weird, it gets a little confusing. Don't burn it down. Trust that this is where you are meant to be. You have worked hard to build this and it's coming. It's coming together in a beautiful, beautiful, beautiful way. And at the CEO upstage, you gotta free yourself like only you can. It is allowing yourself to embrace and embody what you have created. You are doing it now. How do I show up? How? I have this dream for a business and it's happening. Oh my gosh, what do I, how do I show up in this space? Because when we have the dream, we start stepping closer to it. We are in action, we are moving, we are driving down that path and then we arrive. You know, I think about that in terms of even the vacations that I've been on. I really want to ensure I'm enjoying the preparation and the anticipation for a vacation. Putting the plans in place. What are we going to wear? Where are we going to go? Because when we get there, I want to enjoy it. And it's the same thing on this CEO up. I'm not just popping in, saying hi to my vacation and leaving. No, now I'm really going to embrace it and embody it and enjoy it and be it. And this is part of it. This is part of it at that CEO up level. Let me pause there. I want to pause and take a peek and see if there are any questions coming up for you? You know, we build our roadmaps inside the modern CEO in a way that hopefully gets you some clarity. But one of my goals for this specific workshop was to see if you start to see an opportunity to peel back and put pause on some of the things you are doing so you can focus on the 20% or so of things that are really going to get you traction. So I want to specifically ask you to ask any questions that you may have in the chat. But I also want to ask you, are you seeing opportunities to put pause on some things on your to do list so you can start to get that traction? And if you are seeing opportunities to press pause on some things, if you could just type into the chat, press pause, or I am pressing pause on some things, because that would be a big win for this workshop and for this space and time that we have carved out together today. You have your focus, you have your area of focus, right? We've got this dialed in, which means we can likely put pause on a couple of things and bring our focus back into clarity, back to front and center. Awesome. Press pause. Press pause. Pressing pause. Amazing. This is a win. We're getting intentional, we're getting focused, and we're going to keep going deeper and deeper into this as we move throughout the week. In fact, it's only Tuesday. That makes me so happy because we're going to get more time to hang out and step further into what you are creating and get more strategic and more intentional and more focused. And tomorrow we are going to talk about some of those mistakes that modern entrepreneurs make. Modern CEOs are making some mistakes and we are going to call them out so that we do not make the same mistakes and we can get more intentional, more focused, more strategic in our business so we can start to see that growth we want. Not this. I want you to start to see this. So with that in those mistakes, we're really going to look at what we need to be doing as modern CEOs and entrepreneurs to lead ourselves forward. The support we may need, the connections we may want. But really, what do I need to be doing? As I was thinking about this workshop yesterday, I thought there were so many times in me building this business where someone would say to me, you want seven figures? Think like a seven figure business owner. I'm like, I don't know. What is a seven figure business owner? Think about if you want to hit that level. Think like you're already at that level. Like, I don't know. I've never been at that level. I have no idea what I will be thinking. So this is where we're going to kind of skip ahead and be like, all right, what do we need to be doing to get this trajectory? How do I need to be approaching things? So we're going to get much more tangible, much more specific on this. We're pausing for the cause. Oh so good, Jennifer. And oh my gosh, good. The bingo card has been added to the links page. So if you don't have your bingo card yet, you've got some more items to mark off on that bingo card so that you can call bingo at the end of the week or next week if you're catching replays. We're good for that too. And then mistakes modern entrepreneurs make. On Thursday we're going to look at the three parts needed to consistent cash flow and we're really going to focus in on two things since we're talking about some of the CEO stuff, specifically the modern CEO stuff on Wednesday. Tomorrow here we're going to really dial in on sales and we're going to dial in on your client success system. And specifically I'm going to talk about scale, scale, scale, scale, scale, scale. So there's an element of client success systems that we're really going to laser focus in on. And then Friday we're going to have a bit of a catch up day because there was a lot here and sometimes we need to hear things a couple of times or if you want to participate live and you can catch that Friday. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Because we're also going to talk about how to detach from the outcome and enjoy this journey we are on together. Quickly, Juan, if there are any questions. Awesome. Have a great team meeting. Melissa, you're going to bring some great energy into that and I'm so glad, glad some of your mindset has shifted and you're getting some clarity. Right on time. Grab that bingo card and when you're ready to call bingo on Friday, here's the place to go. P.P.S. bingo. Bingo, baby. We've got all the links for you. We've got. You're in the live page now. We'll be back here at 7:00pm U.S. eastern today. And if you want to hop into the VIP, the VIP session is tomorrow at 7pm U.S. eastern Wednesday and there's totally still time to join so we'd love to have you there. Remember, when you plan to win in your business, good things happen. Same thing here in our plan profit scale week. So grab your bingo card because somebody is getting all of this, I cannot wait to see who I'm going to get to do a strategy session with. In fact, I'm going to get to do a strategy session with two people because we're going to give one person all of the things and then we're going to give a handful of people one of each of these items. So we'll do those drawings next week. And here's your bingo card sample. All of these things could potentially be checked off as of day two in the Plan Profit Scale series. I adore you. I'm so grateful that you have spent your time here with us. We're going to be back. This is evolving. This is a journey that we are on together and there's a lot that it takes to build the business that you are building, to have the vision that you have. And it is such an honor that you have taken time out to be here with us to shape that vision and to allow us to support you in creating and crafting and fine tuning and scaling up that vision. We do this all the time with our clients Inside the Modern CEO. It is one of my favorite places to be. Modern CEOs are my favorite people to hang out with and we'll tell you more about that later in the week. But right now, take it in. Move through these workshops with us. Give yourself a pat on the back for investing the time. You are right on time and we're going to do it again tomorrow. We're going to go deeper and deeper and deeper as we move through this week. Each workshop is building on the next and we'll see you Tonight at the 7:00pm Eastern Q& A if you are available. Tanya, awesome. I'll see you there. Planning to win upon win upon win Win upon win. Shan, so great to see you. Have a great afternoon. Evening. Aunt Jean Marie is so good. Melissa, Alita, everyone who showed up in the comments, everyone who was hanging out live, it is such a pleasure. Trudy, right on time. I love it. Let's give the other clarity. When we have the focus and the clarity, we're going to start to get traction and momentum will build and it's gonna feel like we're making magic. Because you are. You are making magic. Alita. Adore you. Andrea. I am so glad to hear that. Thank you for being here. All the love, all the love. All the love. Wish I had the music popping for our wrap ups. It doesn't stop me from dancing though and shaking it out to celebrate what you are creating. I'll see you tonight. I'll see you tomorrow. All the.
