How Can Professional Photography Help You Sell Your Home? - Northern California Real Estate Agent

A short YouTube interview (host Andrew Lam with photographer/videographer Darren Reyes) about the value of professional photography and video for real estate listings. The speakers contrast bright, wide-angle, professionally composed photos and walk-through/aerial videos with typical agent or smartphone photos, and emphasize that professional imagery better showcases renovations and key details. The clip ends with Darren sharing his website for contact.

Foreign. Hey everyone, thanks for joining us. This is Andrew Lam and I'm joined with my photographer and videographer, Darren Reyes.
How's it going, guys?
Thanks for being here with us.
Glad to be here.
And actually helped Darren and his wife Laura purchase a home a couple years ago. And Darren is now the one who kind of makes all of our listings look amazing. So wanted to bring Darren on just to answer a couple of quick questions that we usually get, like, do I really need a professional real estate photographer when I'm listing my home? And, you know, what kind of difference does that make versus maybe the average or traditional method of having a real estate agent take photos themselves? So let's talk about that. Yeah, so when you guys were searching for a home, often the first thing that comes up is, you know, Zillow truly had those websites and the pictures are right there.
Definitely.
So what made a difference when you were choosing which homes to see in terms of, you know, what those pictures looked like?
Well, you can definitely tell. It's funny that some of the photos were from real estate people and then some of them were professionally done. So the biggest difference for me is when I see like bright pictures that make it, you know, the good lighting, it's really drawing to me. And then also as a photographer, I have wide angle lenses so I can make a room look more true to what it actually looks like than if you were with a little iPhone. You can see more in the frame and, you know, make them look their best from the right angle. So if you're a real estate agent and thinking about taking the photos by yourself, I would just encourage you to definitely don't do that. Don't do that. Exactly.
I mean, I took a photography class in high school, but that doesn't qualify me to take amazing photos. And you guys do such a good job of not only taking pictures that are bright, that make a home look like it actually is in person, bright and spacious and like you can picture yourself in the room. But more than that, you guys actually take videos, like an actual walk through video tour of the home. Could you explain that a little bit?
Yeah. So we, like you said, we basically will do like a little video tour of each room. And we actually brought the drone to a lot of the shoots as well. And we'll do some aerial views at the front of the house, the back of the house, so you can really see it from every perspective, you know, rather than, well, we'll actually even get the details of like the sinks and the stove, you know, the little aspects of the kitchen that you normally wouldn't see if you're just running around with a little iPhone.
I do love that about your photography. The details really stand out. If you've put money into a kitchen remodel, you really want the photographer to make that shine. So looking at all of the details, maybe it's a facelift you did to the cabinets or a new faucet and sink that you put in. You really want that to shine. And Darren will do a great job of that actually shooting just, you know, a nice moving shot of the water running out of the faucet, making just everything stand out so much more than, you know, a dark iPhone photo.
Yeah. Or the fireplace.
Yeah, the fireplace is always really good. So, Darren, how can people get a hold of you? Maybe. I know you guys do other things other than real estate photography, so you've done a lot of work for businesses and weddings, things like that. So how. How do people get a hold of you?
Well, if you visit our website@bootstrapbaya.com, that's B O O T S T R A P Beta B E T A dot com. You can see a lot of our featured work. And real estate, like Andrew said, was just one of them. We do weddings and business promos and, you know, author kind of shoots, like book promos, things like that. Anything, basically with video content of promo work you can see on there. Yeah.
All right, well, thank you, Darren, and yeah, glad to have you.
