Andrew Lamb uses Slack channels for house operations and Google Workspace for shared policies and procedures at his sober living facility. He keeps client health information out of Drive because it's not HIPAA-compliant for their needs, relying instead on dedicated channels for repairs, intakes, and case management.

Now, when it comes to automation of house rules and resident accountability, there's a few things that we do here. Number one, I do have a team and we use Slack for internal communication. So Slack is a great tool just for teams to be able to talk to each other. We have different channels. For example, we have one for repairs in our homes, we have one for new intakes, we have one for, you know, just general. Slack always has a general channel. You can't delete it. So it's just kind of general communication. We even have one for the higher level services that we do now. And so we will, you know, communicate based specifically on those services like case management or things like that. We will also use Google Workspace number one for our domain and our emails attached to our domain. So all of our emails are company emails. We love Google Workspace for that reason. We also use it for Google Drive. We share a lot of documents there. None of them are HIPAA compliant documents. You do have the ability through Google Workspace to actually like add in HIPAA compliance, but we don't like to share personal, private client information there. But we do share SOPs, you know, different policies and procedures, different things there so that our team can access them at any given time.
