Spam comments and sub-for-sub exchanges don't work. Spam clicks rarely convert to real subscribers, and sub-for-sub just fills your channel with inactive accounts. Better to spend that time making better videos.

How's it going, guys? Today we're going to be talking about spam and if it actually works. Now, we all know about YouTube spam. We read the comments all the time. People write comments something along these lines: I know no one's ever going to read this, but I'm going to write it anyways. If you could check out my channel, yada yada yada, and they sound really desperate. Or there are people who are too lazy to write a huge paragraph and copy and paste it and they just type something in like, "Check out my channel," or, uh, "Come sub me, I put a lot of work into my videos," or something like that. And, uh, I just wanna let you guys know real quick, spam does not work. And I used to try it on some of my older channels that, uh, I no longer use 'cause all my subs on it are inactive. But, uh, spam doesn't work, and 90% of people who click on spam, all they're gonna do is dislike your videos. No one ever subscribes off of clicking on a spam message. And it's just, it's not good and it's really annoying. And if you're trying to grow your channel, one of the biggest tips I can give to you if you spam a lot is spend the time you take spamming comments on other videos trying to get exposure and put that time into making videos, and you'll notice you'll get so many more subscribers. Because a lot of people who do spam have hardly any videos, and that's one thing that annoys me. Now, if there was a guy with, you know, 500 videos and he puts a lot of work into his videos and you can tell he really tries and he's actually not getting noticed, then, you know, I'd click on it and I wouldn't dislike his videos. I'd like them and I'd watch them. But when someone starts a channel 3 weeks ago— started a channel 3 weeks ago, has like 5 videos, and is spamming comments like, "It's so hard to get noticed on YouTube. No one watches my videos." Well, it's like, bro, no one watches your videos 'cause you only have like 5 videos. They were recorded with a potato and they're horrible. Your mic sounds like it's— I don't even know. I just ruined that joke. But anyways, biggest thing you can do is take the time you would spend spamming and spend that editing videos, working on videos, and you will get so much further on YouTube. And spam doesn't work. And as I said, people who click on it, all they're going to do is dislike your videos. And most of them probably have ad blockers, so if you do use ads, it probably won't matter. So now that we've established that spam does not work, another thing people go to, to, you know, try to get exposure and try to get noticed or whatever, is they do sub for sub, and that definitely does not work. Uh, spam is more effective. Like, spamming comments on videos is way more effective than sub for sub. 'Cause here's what sub for sub is: you know, you message someone, "Subscribe to me and I'll subscribe to you." they message you back, "Yeah, sure, I'll subscribe to you," and then you both never watch each other's videos. Most people who do sub for sub, they're subscribed to so many people, there's not a chance in the world that they will ever watch a single one of your videos. All it is is just a number under your sub count. And if you do sub for sub, you're gonna have a bunch of inactive subs, and you're gonna wonder why no one ever watches your videos. And it's just— don't even do sub for sub. I'd rather you spam. Comments on videos than do sub for sub, because sub for sub is just— I have a history with it. I spent a lot of time doing it on one of my older channels. I had like around 12,000 subscribers off of doing sub for sub, and, uh, they were all inactive. And doing sub for sub is, uh, the biggest waste of your time ever. I spent a lot of time subscribing to other people that just to have them sub back to me, and it's just— it was a waste of my time, to be honest. I probably spent days of my life doing it. And, uh, those were on my old channels, which are now deleted because, uh, they were all just inactive. So definitely do not do sub for sub. Uh, that's pretty much that. So anyways, hopefully if you clicked on this video, you were someone who did spam, and hopefully now you don't. And, um, maybe I persuaded you not to. Uh, it's really annoying and it doesn't get you anywhere. Spend that time making videos or editing videos. And if you didn't spam before this video, Um, just continue not spamming and, uh, be sure to flag comments for spam, people who do it a lot and things like that. But anyways, thanks for watching, hope you enjoyed, and I'll see you later.
