Dr. Dre topped 2014's highest-paid musicians at $620 million, mostly from Apple's Beats acquisition. Beyoncé earned $115 million from her tour, The Eagles $100 million from touring. Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber didn't crack the top five, though Bieber still made $80 million.

So to my surprise, T-Swift and Justin Bieber aren't actually the two highest paid musicians. And, uh, I don't know, I just like, especially Taylor Swift, because every other song I hear on the radio is Taylor Swift. I could have sworn she'd just be blowing everyone else out of the water, but she's actually not even in the top 5 of most highest paid— most highest— of the highest paid musicians of the year 2014. So this is all of last year is where these numbers come from. So actually in first place is Dr. Dre. He made over $600 million last year. 620 to be exact. And it says he got a majority of that money from Apple's $3 billion purchase of Beats, and it made him— it gave him the single biggest payday of any musician in history when Apple bought Beats, the product that he's sponsored by or whatever. So yeah, he made $600 million in one year, which makes him the number one highest earning musician of last year. Number two is actually Beyoncé, and she earned $115 million last year. So that's a huge jump $600 million, Dr. Dre. $115 million, Beyoncé, in second place. And it said it was her most lucrative year, came courtesy of her Miss Carter Show World Tour. So it said majority of her money was made on her world tour. And third place is, uh, let it load, The Eagles. Now this is someone I don't ever listen to, uh, to be honest. I don't even know any other songs. But apparently The Eagles made $100 million last year, and they are the third highest paid musician of 2014. And it says they are the ageless rockers. They have an ongoing history of the Eagles tour, which helped them earn more last year than Lady Gaga, Kanye West, and Miley Cyrus combined. So apparently these guys are pretty legit, even though I've never heard of them. And, uh, in fourth place is Bon Jovi. He earned $82 million last year, and it said the reason he earned this much is because the tail end of their Because We Can tour, which grossed a quarter of a billion dollars pushed the New Jersey natives into the top 5. So apparently they had a tour which grossed over a quarter of a billion dollars. That's a lot of money for just a single band to earn by themselves, a quarter of a billion dollars, you know, for singing music. That's, that's pretty cool. And that put them at the number 4 slot. In 5th place is Bruce Springsteen. Springsteen, he earned $81 million last year, just $1 million behind Bon Jovi. And it said that he was grossing more than $4 million per night with the E Street Band when he was on tour. So when he was on tour, he was making $4 mil per night. Now I know it takes a lot of preparation and you have to write a song and all that, but still, to get up on a stage and sing for a little while and then make $4 million, more than a lot of people make in their entire life, in one night, that's pretty crazy. And that's why he is at number 5 in the top 10 highest paid musicians. Number 6 is Justin Bieber, and he earned $80 million. So numbers 4 through 6 and the highest paid musicians are all within $2 million. And, uh, yeah, his description on the website is pretty much money, problems, behavior, yada yada. We all heard about all the stuff he did last year. Uh, to me, he did it all just for, you know, attention and things like that, but I won't go into it. But Justin Bieber last year came in 6th place and earned $80 million. And 7th place is One Direction, and I really haven't heard them in forever, but somehow they managed to make $75 million last year. I thought they died off, but apparently they are still a thing. It says the boy band's earnings soared to new heights thanks to lucrative live dates, Pepsi commercials, and other number one albums. Midnight Memories. So apparently they did some commercials with Pepsi. Number 8 is Paul McCartney, which I believe is the oldest member of all the people in the top 10. He is 72 years old, and it said he grossed more than $3.5 million per city when he was on tour, and he earned $71 million last year, which is a ton of money. I don't know what I would buy if I made $71 million, or if I was Dr. Dre and made $600 million. I mean, for real, what do you buy with that kind of money? But at number 9 is Calvin Harris, and it said he was a former, or he was the top-paid DJ in history, and he was scoring six figures per night, and he produced hits for Rihanna and yada yada yada. He made $66 million last year, which is why he is number 9 in the highest-paid musicians of 2014. And finally, number 10 is Toby Keith. He made $65 million last year, and it said he is a money machine. He recorded record labels, he started a restaurant chain, he did many other things to earn his $65 million. So he, he did other things besides music, but $65 million is a lot of money. And those are the 10 highest-paid musicians of 2014. Let me know what you think. And I kinda see now why everyone wants to, you know, become a singer and, you know, play in bands and things like that when they're younger, because I mean, for real, if you actually do get famous, you make a ton of money off of it. But that's pretty much everything. Let me know what you think.
