How does this video have 9 views but 52 comments? This does not make any sense. I give up on life. Have you ever wondered to yourself how rich Notch is? You know, the guy who made Minecraft, which has way over 100 million downloads. In fact, the word Minecraft is actually used more on Google than the Bible and Justin Bieber. Many people even say that Minecraft is considered the Legos of our generation. Now obviously this is the year 2015 and Minecraft is owned by Microsoft, but it wasn't always owned by Microsoft. It used to be owned by a now billionaire who goes by the online name of Notch. And this is the part of the video where I start throwing out numbers. So Notch creates a game and just somehow it explodes. I mean, just Minecraft became a huge hit from the beginning and somehow it managed to get over 100 million downloads. Those 100 million downloads managed to bring in $700 million, majority of which is profit. Do you know how much $700 million is? That's a ton of money. Even though he had like 30 employees, if you split, you know, you split up $700 million between 30 people, That's ridiculous, even though obviously Notch is getting majority of the money. He even said that when he first made the game, investors were willing to throw so much money at it. People were trying to invest money, but Minecraft just didn't need it. It was successful on its own. It had enough cash flow it was generating on its own that it didn't need people to invest in the company. Till one day, Notch releases this one tweet, which leads to the selling of Minecraft. And to sum it up, apparently he didn't expect the game to get as big as he did. I mean, no one really would. But he just didn't like all the hate he was getting and all the people that were just, you know, being rude, like calling him a fat loser and just things like that. And, uh, he never expected the game to get anywhere near how big it did. And he said he was having so much fun when there was just a couple thousand fans, and just now it's gotten so big and there's so much hate that he just didn't want to do it anymore. So now we have a scenario: the owner of one of the biggest video games ever, the owner of the biggest video game in our generation, the biggest hit online, just a game every kid and his mom plays, the owner no longer wants to own the game. So what happens? Well, I'll tell you what happens. Microsoft pretty much says, "Hey, we'll give you $2.5 billion if you give us Minecraft." $2.5 billion! And I mean, who in their right mind would say no to that? $2.5 billion! You pretty much just say yes, and you're automatically a billionaire, and you'll never have to work the rest of your life. None of your family will ever have to work the rest of their life. Anyone you ever come across, you could just hand out millions of dollars to. I mean, $2.5 billion is a ton of money. So now that I've mentioned that he's a billionaire, this shouldn't come as a surprise. One of the first things he did was he bought an $85 million mega mansion. $85 million on a house. Do you know how much money that is? That's just ridiculous. And when he was getting interviewed, I was just reading through some of the things he was saying. He got interviewed by someone and someone said, "What's one of the things you hate the most about your house?" And he said, "It has a built-in gym." And he said, "Look at me. Does it look like I need a gym?" Anyways, guys, that's pretty much the story of how Notch became a billionaire. I didn't really like go in depth at all. I was just trying to explain some of the numbers to you guys. And if you never heard this story before, I'm pretty sure you found it interesting. Obviously, if you already knew about Notch and all this and like you're a diehard Minecraft fan, none of this was new and this video probably wasn't that entertaining to you. But that's pretty much everything. Let me know what you think.
No exception to the rule, do what you do to get by, 'cause I keep stickin' like I'm Mitch McConnell. My thoughts keep telling me to get me home, but my balls keep telling me to let me out. Oh, just let me out. That clock keeps ticking like a metronome, and my thoughts keep telling me to get me home, but my balls keep telling me to let me out.
