In this monologue, the speaker shifts focus from top‑earning YouTubers to the broader creator base, arguing that a YouTube channel can be a legitimate job for many people. Using the 2022 U.S. average household income of $46,000 as a benchmark, the speaker calculates that roughly 35 million annual video views are needed to generate that amount, based on typical ad‑revenue rates. Applying this threshold to available data, the speaker estimates that 6,481 creators surpass the 35 million‑view mark each year, meaning they likely earn at least $46 K and could sustain themselves through YouTube alone. The video frames this statistic as inspirational, suggesting that if thousands can achieve it, aspiring creators have a realistic chance as well. A brief side note highlights economic inequality, noting that the top 1 % controls about half of the nation’s wealth, underscoring the disparity between elite earners and the average creator.

¡Hola! So I spend all this time talking about how much the top-tier YouTubers make, the top 1%, like PewDiePie and Vanoss, and I always talk about how they make millions of dollars, but I've never really, you know, talked about the majority of people. Because in fact, a lot of people make a living off YouTube. You know, you don't need to make a million dollars a year to do YouTube as a job. In fact, last year the average income for an American household was $46,000. Quick side note though, almost half of America's currency is controlled by the top 1%, so the term richer get richer is literally true when almost half of our currency is controlled by the top 1% of people, you know, the CEO of businesses and things like that. But anyways, we're gonna figure out how many people make more than $46,000 a year off of YouTube, 'cause then statistically speaking, they're above average and could theoretically do YouTube as a job. So, uh, let me pull up my notes. $46,000, to get that much money per year, you need to be getting roughly 35 million views per year. So if you get 35 million views per year, you're gonna make $46,000 per year,, and you will, you know, meet the average income standards for America. So pretty much here's the main point of the entire video: if you get 35 million views per year, that means on average you're gonna make more than $46,000 per year off of YouTube. And if you're making more than $46,000, then by American standards you're making an above average, you know, yearly wage through a job. So pretty much here's the number you've been waiting for: the amount of people that get more than 35 million views per year is 6,481 people. So over 6,000 people make $46,000 or more off of YouTube per year. 6,000 people make enough money off of YouTube to do it as a job. Uploading videos to the internet by themselves make enough money to do it as a job. And after hearing that number, that 6,000 people can do YouTube as a job, it's kind of inspirational and a little bit motivational because, you know, if that many people are able to, you know, reach that goal then there's a good chance, you know, I can meet it. There's a good chance you can meet it. If you've ever thought about making a YouTube channel or just want to do it for fun, you should, you know, you should really go through with it because there's a decent chance you could get somewhere off of it like those 6,481 people did that I was talking about earlier. But that's pretty much everything. I pretty much ran you through everything multiple times throughout this video, so just let me know what you think. I thought it was a pretty interesting stat and just wanted to share with you guys. How over 6,000 people theoretically make enough money off of YouTube that they could live off of it. And that's a lot just for, you know, uploading videos to the internet.
