A creator breaks down his YouTube earnings from recent videos, showing roughly $1 per 1,000 views after the network takes its cut. He explains why actual money varies wildly: ad blockers, what device viewers use, and YouTube's policies all matter. His channel makes far less than MrBeast or PewDiePie.

Oh hey, my favorite YouTuber MrBeast just up— oh my goodness, he's talking about YouTube money! Sound the alarm, guys, he's talking about YouTube money! Oh my goodness, my butt is starting to hurt. Why am I getting so butt hurt? Why is my butt hurting? He's talking about YouTube money, guys, freak out! YouTube money! What's up, guys? Today we're going to be talking about YouTube money. I know everyone on YouTube hates that. I don't really understand why. You need money to survive, you need money to buy things. I just— don't freak out, you know, go get the lotion for your butt, stop getting butt hurt. It's money. You need it to survive. So we're gonna be talking about this one video because the first 80,000 views I got on this video, I was actually switching networks. This video does have 230,000 views, but I was switching networks so I didn't have ads on the first 80,000 or 70,000, whatever. I don't feel like doing math. So yeah, this 170,000 views got me just under $160. Now this is before my network gets their cut, so it's actually going to come out to under $140 and yeah, 170,000 views. Equals $140 after my network's cut, which is kind of close to what I've always said in my videos. 1,000 views equals $1. Now just realize this number can fluctuate a lot. It can be so much higher. It really depends on how many people use ad blocker and ultimately if YouTube just wants to show an ad, you know, if they're watching from mobile. It fluctuates a lot, but like I've said, usually every 1,000 views comes out to $1, although I do have videos with like 20,000 views that have made over $40. Like I said, it just fluctuates a lot. And yeah, I'm not going to drag it out too much longer. Like I said, right here, that's the views, that's the money. For all you people out there, this is not me trying to brag, okay? Like, this is nothing. I could get a real job and make this in under a day. This is just to show people that don't do YouTube, um, the type of money that YouTubers could possibly be making. I mean, lots of YouTubers upload a video every single day that gets more views than this. So that means every single video they upload is pulling in like money way higher than this. I mean, think about PewDiePie gets 6 times this amount of views per video, so that means he's making, you know, 6 times this per video roughly. So yeah, if you were wondering how much money YouTubers make, hopefully this video has explained it. I don't know, like I said, I'm not trying to brag. This is literally like nothing, and that's that.
