A creator tests whether a clickbait title targeting PewDiePie will drive views, despite having no actual animosity. He notes that low-quality PewDiePie criticism videos rack up hundreds of thousands of views, proving controversy alone works on YouTube. The whole thing is an experiment to see how easy it is to game the algorithm.

Wow. I can't believe you clicked on this video. You're probably part of the bro army and you're probably about to let your wrath rain down upon my channel by disliking all my videos. And, uh, I don't actually hate PewDiePie. I just want to see how many people would click on this video, uh, because I put a hateful title towards him. Um, I actually don't even know what the title of this video is, but I'm guessing it's something mean towards PewDiePie. Which, by the way, I like PewDiePie's videos and things like that. But, uh, I just wanted to see, uh, just kind of do an experiment. Like, is it that easy to get views on YouTube? 'Cause I've seen tons and tons of videos with hundreds of thousands of views from people that, you know, just talk crap about PewDiePie, and then they get a bunch of views and they get subscribers off of it. And is it really that easy, you know, to get views on YouTube by just talking crap about PewDiePie? But, uh, I don't really want to talk trash about PewDiePie 'cause I actually watch his videos and I think they're actually really entertaining. But, uh, I just want to do an experiment and see how many people actually click on this video and dislike it. Uh, you know, the bro army letting their wrath rain down upon me. Um, so, yeah, that's pretty much that. I just wanted— I don't like— I don't actually hate PewDiePie or whatever the title says. I just wanted to see if this video will get a bunch of views just 'cause I put a hateful title towards PewDiePie on it. 'Cause, uh, there are tons of videos out there where people, like, talk trash about PewDiePie, and they're really poorly made videos, and they suck, and their mic quality is horrible, but they have, like, a couple hundred thousand views. And so I just wanted to see if this video would get a ton of views. Uh, obviously it worked on you, 'cause you're watching it right now, but, uh, that's pretty much that. Uh, let's see if this video actually gets views. If this video has more than double-digit views, then that means it worked, and, uh, putting a hateful title towards PewDiePie does get you a lot of views, and sadly it's that easy to get views on YouTube. But, uh, anyways, whatever it says, I don't actually mean it towards PewDiePie. I just want to do a little experiment, and I don't have an outro, so I'll just end the video really awkwardly by saying, see you later.
