The video presents a commentary on a century‑old bridge with a clearance of only 11 ft 8 in, far below modern truck height standards. Because the bridge predates clearance regulations, tall trucks repeatedly collide with it, causing vehicle damage, driver injuries, and insurance disputes. The narrator highlights a crowdsourced website (11foot8.com) that archives crash footage captured by two permanent cameras, and walks viewers through Google Maps to show the numerous warning signs that drivers often ignore. While the narrator finds the crashes entertaining, they also acknowledge the serious human and financial costs. The video ends with a brief, unrelated poetic interlude in Spanish.
¡Hola!
The bridge you're going to be looking at in this video was built over 100 years ago, back before there were standards about how high off the ground a bridge had to be. Why is this important? Well, this bridge is actually below 12 feet tall, which means most trucks, which are 12 feet at some point, will end up hitting the top of their truck against the bottom of the bridge. And, you know, instead of fixing the problem, you know, hiring the bridge, putting up more signs, instead we have a guy who sets up two cameras that permanently record the bridge 24/7 and records trucks just ramming into the bridge and just ripping off the top of their trucks. And yeah, it's like freaking funny as could be. Just so you fully understand what's going on, a guy made a website called 11foot8.com, and the sole purpose of the website is to upload a video every time a truck smashes into this bridge that is below the standards because it is so old. Now, as funny as this is, I mean, I literally could watch these videos all day just watching cars ram into a bridge. It's hilarious. And there's plenty of warning signs up. I'll show you guys the warning. Signs in a minute. People do end up getting concussions from this. People smash their heads against the steering wheel. People have been hurt from doing this. And then on top of that, insurance won't cover the cost, you know, for your car. I mean, what are you going to tell them? Tell your insurance agent, "I ran into a bridge, can you, you know, fix my truck?" So it does have a huge negative effect on many people's lives, this bridge. But it is like freaking hilarious as could be. I love watching it. And I'm actually going to take you guys to Google Maps right now and show you what the signs look like coming up to the bridge, and you can determine whether or not the people are just pure stupid or they need to put up more signs, or, you know, just make the bridge higher. What's up guys, we're on Google Maps. I apologize for my lower mic quality, it's my recording software, just ignore it. So this is the street leading to the bridge. So imagine we're a truck, we're just going down the street, slowly going down. Let's go up here, here comes the first few signs. So you see here, let's go a little bit closer. There's a sign right there that says 11-8, 11-8. But you know, I'm a truck driver, I'm just going to ignore it. Let's just keep going, YOLO. And we keep heading. Look at all these signs up here. I mean, let's see what these say. It says 11-8, 11 foot 8, overheight when flashing. Those lights even flash if you're overheight and then people still ignore it. They just keep going and boom, they hit this bridge right here. That thing right there, you can see all the wear and tear from all the trucks that have rammed into it. It's hilarious. So yeah, this is the infamous bridge known for destroying countless trucks, probably over 100 trucks. It's pretty funny. I mean, this is absolutely hilarious, but I mean, people do get hurt when they ram into it, but it's just, it's so funny. And how the guy has two cameras permanently recording this, whoever thought of that idea is just a genius. And whoever made the website and all, that's just, that's really smart. But yeah, this is the bridge where you just see cars just go right there and lose the top of their truck. It's quite hilarious. Let me know what you think, and that's the video.
No exception to the rule, do what you do to get by, cause I keep sticking like a metronome and my thoughts keep telling me to get me home, but my balls keep telling me to let me out. Oh, just let me out. That clock keeps ticking like a metronome and my thoughts keep telling me to get me home, but my balls keep telling me to let me out.
