In this vlog, the creator reflects on whether video games are a waste of time. He recounts how his obsession with titles like Call of Duty and his admiration for FaZe Clan led him to start a YouTube channel, suggesting that gaming was the catalyst for his current career. He describes a three‑month period where he quit gaming cold turkey, only to replace the time with TV and realize that he played games mainly because he lacked better alternatives. This experience shifted his view: while he acknowledges that games can be a waste of time for many, he personally values them for social interaction and fun with friends. He announces a shift back to gaming content, teasing a new "Console Peasant" series focused on Counter‑Strike, and ends with light‑hearted advice about room cleanup and equipment safety.

Don't you hate when people record vertical instead of sideways? Like, I bet these black bars are pissing you off. MrBeast, oh! Most of you are addicted to Call of Duty, Fallout 4, or Counter-Strike. And I'm willing to bet that every single week you toss many hours at a video game. And have you ever put down the G Fuel and the Adderall and just thought to yourself, "Is this a waste of my time?" In my case, no, video games are not a waste of time. In fact, video games have been very beneficial. To my life. If it wasn't for my FaZe Clan idolizing, tryharding, no-life addiction to Call of Duty, I never would have gotten into YouTube. So in my case, no, video games are not a waste of time, because if it wasn't for video games, I never would have gotten into YouTube. And if I never got into YouTube, instead of entertaining thousands of people right now, I'd be working a fast food job at Hardee's or McDonald's. Now I will admit, this has not always been my opinion. In fact, 3 months ago I did a video where I said I'm quitting video games, and I really did. I quit video games for 3 months. I just went cold turkey and I didn't play any. But, uh, video games was one of those things I just put too much time into, and it really doesn't benefit my life, you know? So that was one of the bigger reasons why I stopped. And it wasn't like my parents were telling me to quit playing video games. It wasn't anyone else. It was just my opinion. At that time, I thought, you know, you only live once. Why spend it staring at a screen playing a video game? That was truly my opinion at the time. But the thing I realized is during those months where I gave up video games, where I was determined not to play them anymore, I just spent my free time watching TV and instead of playing video games. And that's the reason I changed my opinion, because I realized I only play video games because I literally have nothing better to do with my time. And so if I have nothing better to do, why not spend my time online with some really good friends and just have fun? Because I just don't have anything else I need to be doing. So to answer the question, are video games a waste of time? Yes, in most cases, yes, video games are a waste of time. But to be honest, I don't care. I have a lot of free time and I just want to start playing video games with my friends and just, you know, have a laugh, have fun with some guys that I really enjoy talking to. So you guys are going to see a lot more video game content on this channel. Hopefully you guys don't mind. And I'm probably going to start a series where I do Console Peasant's Introduction to Glorious Counter-Strike or something like that. I haven't thought of the title yet. Pretty much just me, a console peasant, playing Counter-Strike and just uploading his fails for you guys to enjoy and laugh at. So yeah, that's pretty much the video. Hopefully you enjoyed. Make sure you throw away your cups, clean up your room, unplug your computer in case there's a flood. You might want to bring the computer with you too, because if your house gets flooded, then your computer might get messed up. And make sure you take down your green screen when you, you know, you know. Anyways, that's the video. Hope you guys enjoyed, and meth equals death. MrBeast, oh! MrBeast, oh!
