In this personal vlog, Antonio Moniz discusses feeling burned out from the daily grind of uploading to YouTube. He explains that after a week-long break—following an earlier longer hiatus—he noticed his channel continued to grow, with a PewDiePie-related video approaching 50,000 views and gaining roughly 1,000 views per day, and his subscriber count increasing despite no new uploads. Antonio clarifies that his lack of content isn’t due to time constraints; he has a free summer schedule filled with gym, basketball, friends, and gaming. He shares a practical tip about avoiding monotone commentary early in the morning and, most importantly, advises fellow creators to take breaks when YouTube feels like a grind, as stepping away can restore excitement and motivation for creating new videos.

How's it going guys? I wanted to start off this video with some rock paper scissors. 3 annotations, just take your pick. I know you're gonna click on all 3, but just click on one and see if you win. So today we're gonna be talking about YouTube, and if you're a content creator, or simpler words, you're a person who uploads videos to YouTube, you know that sometimes it can start to feel like a grind, and that's kind of where I was at. This is more personal video about, you know, channel update for me. I pretty much took the entire week off. I haven't uploaded a video in a whole week. And, uh, even the video I uploaded a week ago. Before that I kinda took a big break. I've just been kinda getting away from YouTube. I don't really know better words to explain it. 'Cause YouTube just started to feel like a grind. It kinda felt like I had to put out a video every day, and I wasn't enjoying it as much as I used to. So I kinda took a couple weeks off just so I could get away from it, and so when I come back I'd be more excited. Like, literally I have not looked at my analytics I've barely gone on YouTube at all, or on my channel. I've been on YouTube and I've been watching other YouTubers, but I've clicked on my channel very few times over the past week, and I haven't even looked at my analytics. So, uh, I just took a huge break from it because, like I said, YouTube started to feel like a grind. It wasn't as fun. But, uh, one thing I noticed is my PewDiePie— How Much PewDiePie Makes 2014 video— that has almost 50,000 views, which is pretty crazy because I believe like a week ago had like 45,000 or something like that. So it's getting close to 1,000 views per day, which was— I mean, that's just crazy. I mean, I also gained a decent amount of subscribers over the time I was inactive and not posting. So my channel grew quite a bit while I was just not uploading. And it's not that I don't have time to upload, like I've said, or like I'm trying to imply. I have— it's summer for me right now, and I have all the free time in the world. Pretty much I wake up, I go to the gym, lift some weights, and play basketball. And then besides that 2-hour, hour and a half increment, I have the rest of the day and I really don't do anything but, you know, hang out with friends and talk to people on Skype and just play on my computer, so I have plenty of time to make videos. I was just kind of taking an upbreak, so I just like, I don't know really, it just felt like a grind. And I know you guys understand what I'm saying. Anyone who uploads videos to YouTube knows it gets to the point where it's not as fun and you're just doing it to do it. You're going through the motions. I just looked at my clock. It's actually pretty early in the morning, so hopefully I don't sound too monotone. Uh, in case you don't know, you should never do a commentary in the morning, 'cause the closer you are to when you wake up, the more monotone you sound. So, uh, hopefully I don't sound too monotone in this. I didn't even think about that. But, uh, you might be wondering what the whole point of this video is. It's pretty much, if YouTube is starting to feel like a grind to you, just take a break. And, uh, I'm definitely feeling like making YouTube videos now. I'm really glad I took a break, and I'm kind of excited about it. So, uh, I'm gonna start uploading again, in case anyone out there was wondering. Probably not that many people even notice, but I will start uploading again. I'm back, and if you ever, you know, if YouTube ever starts to feel like a grind, just take a week off, and when you come back, you'll really want to make videos, and you'll be way more motivated. But anyways, that's pretty much that. ¡Gracias, Antonio Moniz!
