Thoughts on ego is the enemy Ryan Holiday book

Mohant breaks down Ryan Holiday's "Ego Is the Enemy" using summaries he watched. Ego works as a psychological defense but destroys progress. With 130 million books published, most people never read enough to challenge their beliefs. Daily self-reflection helps you spot where ego blocks you.

I felt I wanted to share that because the summary of the book, although I have not read the book, I saw about three or four summaries of the book and I chose this one to share with you guys because he was the most compact and I had read so many books, by the way. Let me ask you guys a question. How many books have been published so far throughout history? Want to guess? Billions. When you say million, it can be 100 million or 500 million. So pick up, pick a number. Anybody can pick a number. Something like a billion. Okay, so only two people want to guess, but the right answer, if you Google it, it's 130 million. Only 130 million. Some people say only. I don't know how they can say only because 130 million is a. So out of all the books that I have read, even though I have not read this, this is something that after a long time I want to try to read because my habits now have changed. I used to read a lot. Now I read online and I read articles, not books. But this is something that I think is worth reading. So this impacted me in such a way that I thought to myself that do I have an ego? I have to ask that question to myself. Do you have an ego, Mohant? Yes, of course. Who doesn't have an ego? Is there anyone here who doesn't have an ego or are people afraid to reply? Is there anyone who doesn't have an ego? Everyone has to have an ego. Because if you understand in psychology what ego means, ego is about a defense mechanism for yourself. You need the ego to survive. And some of the other summaries explain this in detail. One of the things about the ego is it is both a defense mechanism, but it can destroy you. And in this summary, in the video that you just saw, you saw some examples of the guy explaining people who have been destroyed by their ego. So I'm not here to point fingers at you, I'm here to point fingers at myself. So everybody should think that every day, what is my ego preventing me from doing or doing better? And the ego is working continuously. So you got to remind yourself every day, what is my ego not letting me do? And it will work in different ways with different people. So we've got to realize that. So I have to look at myself as an individual. So what I did is, I hope this works. I had a look at myself and I think these are some of my faults, that I'm not very good at forgiving others. There are situations where you have to forgive others There are situations you can forgive but never forget. But if you are forgiving, it helps you acknowledging that someone else is right. I found that. I find that difficult. How to acknowledge that he is right and I am wrong after we've talked for so long and I've held my position. So I'm not going to go over all this. But the objective is that you do self reflection. And if your ego is not allowing you to progress in a good peaceful way, you address that and try to become a better person. So that's what I want to say. We continue with the agenda for today. I hope this little presentation was helpful.
