Hello, Boutique Hub community. My name is Joelle, half of JR Visual Design. We are here today to teach you how to build a profitable table display. We also got a microphone, so we're hoping that you can hear us loud and clear. We are your visual merchandising and retail design experts for the Boutique Hub community, so let's dive in. So we have already done this table display because we did a store flip here a couple weeks ago, so we have already moved the furniture into place, but we did want to start by giving you little tips on how to put together a table display. So this is the first thing you see when you walk in. So we have a lot of space to work with. If you don't, you could put a smaller round table, just work with your space. But we have the opportunity to put a big large table here. We love to anchor it with a rug. And then you always want to bring in different levels to your table. So we have this beautiful bench here. Not only does it offer us a whole nother area to merchandise, um, but it also just adds levels, which is very visually appealing to the eye. We also added this trunk because we just thought it was a cute little vintage touch, but it also works great for adding more merchandise as well. So build your table with your furniture first, and then we'll go on to the next step. Your first step always is to pick a theme or a direction for your table display. This is great as you merchandise any section in your store to have a direction and a theme as you start to merchandise, especially for table displays. So we have to consider so many things. What season is it? What will your customers be buying? What are your new arrivals telling you? Right now we are in Alberta, Canada, and we are in the summer, and we have a really big push for rodeo and concert season. So that is exactly what we did with this table display. We created a one-stop shop for all your Western concert and rodeo looks. So this is not only really great for when your customers are coming to shop so that you can direct them to these places that have this clear direction and theme, but it's also going to be so easy for this first step, once you do this, to pull your merchandise because you have that clear direction in your head. And so everything will come together seamlessly from there. From there, you are going to start to pull your merchandise. So now that you have your theme and direction in mind, you also want to consider a color story that you will stick to. Color stories are a very subconscious shopping behavior in a customer, but they are more drawn to shop areas that have beautiful curated color stories rather than it feeling very overwhelming. When you have multiple colors and there's no rhyme or reason to your merchandising or sections, people feel overwhelmed and they actually will not want to shop there. So when you create a beautiful color story and palette for your customers to shop, they're drawn to it and they want to shop it. So as you can see here, we worked with blue, of course, because we have so much denim for Concert and Rodeo looks. And then we also had a lot of brown accessories like the boots that we wanted to work with. So our color story came together beautifully with the blue, brown, and then cream as our neutral palette— or sorry, neutral buffer colors in between. You want to keep in mind when you are merchandising tables is to add levels and height variance. Now this is super important. It's just a design element that's really important in any type of design. You always want to have a height variance and then levels that the eye can follow and create a really nice flow to your table display. So we have that in many ways with tables. It's actually really important because there's such— there's always a lot of depth in tables and you still want to make sure the back is shoppable and seen. So we always put your taller products towards the back. We of course have a mannequin, a bag, and our tall foliage. And then we of course have our mannequins on the side that add a lot of height here. Um, this is a really great idea. We added this box. This offers a whole nother level to merchandise onto. So you can see the product that's up here. If it wasn't on this level, you wouldn't see it at all, and so it would totally get lost. So it's very important to add your level. This just turned out really cute too. We always say have fun with it. We try so many things to display items, and some work and some don't, and some seem really weird, but then we try them and they work out, and we're like, this is the cutest thing ever. We hung a couple kitten heels off of there, so just play around with it and have fun, because this turned out to be a really cute way to display those little kitten heels for these concert looks. We also have, of course, our sunglasses on the cake stand. This makes them very shoppable and seen. If they were flat, they could get lost. So Again, use lots of height, use levels, that really brings your table displays to life. As you're pulling merchandise, you wanna keep in mind cross merchandising. Now I know we talk about this all the time, but it really is your most important visual merchandising strategy, especially on table displays. So when you were doing your theme, it's not just clothing. You want the girls to see accessories and how they can accessorize. You want this to truly be the one-stop shop. So you want to showcase multiple categories of items that will curate that look to them. So when we are pulling, we're pulling accessories, jewelry, you have some sunglasses, some scarves that work really well with the Western theme. We have shoes, we have purses, we have tops, we have bottoms, we have it all. This gives your customers a little taste of everything you offer in the store while they walk in, but also it takes the guesswork out because you're showing them all of the things that you can add to your outfit to create the ultimate rodeo look. So this will help up your price per transaction because your customers will then be buying more as you are taking that guesswork work out. So cross merchandising is really the best visual merchandising strategy to make your tables more profitable and to really up the price per transaction per customer that comes into your store. Okay, so we're going to take you a little bit closer up. So as you can see, we have accessories, we have wallets, we have bags, we have sunglasses, we have the scarves that people can accessorize for the rodeo looks. We have layering pieces for underneath your tops. We have cream, we have sunglasses, we have necklaces, we have cute little socks, we have boots, we have denim. Of course, we have our mannequin styled to the lines as well. So as you can see, all of this product works together. It shows so many categories of items that you actually offer in your store to give your customers a taste. And it also just creates the one-stop shop that your customer can build their looks off of. Okay, our next thing is visual moments. As you can see on here, we have multiple visual moments. So what that means is this is an opportunity for you to showcase how to pair things together. So it can be something as small as this. We created a little visual moment here with the sunglasses, that's showing your customer how they compare these two items together. Our main thing on this table will be our mannequins. Your mannequins are your biggest silent sellers. When they are outfitted in super cute looks and accessorized to the nines, you are taking the guesswork out again for your customer. They're looking— there's so many people that don't know how to pair items together. So when you show them how to pair items together, they're like, Perfect. I'll take it all. They don't want to do that guessing and pairing. So when you show them beautiful outfitted mannequins like we have here, styled, accessorized with multiple items, you are really creating that easy shopping experience. And get this, they're going to buy multiple items because you're showing them how to outfit this so cute and they need it all and they buy it all. So mannequins are another great opportunity to up your price per transaction and then showcase the things you have on the table and how to pair it together as a full look. And if you really want to elevate table display, we always suggest adding in decor that is cohesive with your theme. So we didn't have any Western decor per se, but our Western items speak for themselves, so we just put in some supporting actresses. Um, we actually have this beautiful Pampas moment that we actually added florals into to really speak to more summer spring vibes. And then we also added a beautiful vase with foliage back there. Of course, the foliage is blue, so it really ties everything together. You want to make sure your decor is cohesive with your theme as well as color story. And when you add this, it's just a really fun element, but watch your customers be drawn to the table displays with those decor elements because they're just so fun and people want to shop them and it just takes it to the next level. To finish off your table displays, you always want to make sure it looks very clean and organized. Refold your items so they have crisp, clean lines. Tuck in your tags so nothing looks really messy. No customer is going to want to pick up a pile of, let's say, these bralettes with the tags hanging out, they know they're going to get all stuck together and it's going to be messy. So you really want to keep things clean and organized, and that will help draw customers in to shop your items. We hope you enjoyed this video on how to merchandise a profitable table display.
