Hello everyone. Today we're going to talk about how to open multiple tabs in QuickBooks Online. So when working with QuickBooks Online or really any cloud based software, there are times when you want to look at two or potentially multiple screens at the same time rather than clicking on back or forward and regenerating the reports for the screenshots. So QuickBooks Online does in fact allow you to open multiple tabs at the same time and this can be a real time saver and also can help you look at different screens or reports concurrently, making analysis a little bit easier. So the one caveat is that you can only open multiple tabs for the same company. If you have more than one company and you want to compare the reports, for example, from different companies, you actually would have to open the other company in a different browser. So let's look at some examples of opening multiple tabs. The one that I use most often is when reviewing reports I like to look at the balance sheet and the profit and loss statement as the same time. So to do that simply go to Reports on the left hand side menu, click on Reports as you normally would. You can pull up the balance sheet.
And then to open the second report you would go back to Reports right click and click on Open link in new tab and I'm working with a Chromebook browser but this option is available in all browsers. So click on Open Link in new tab.
And the Reports interface comes up and you can simply click on Profit and loss and this way you can look at the profit and loss and you can look at the balance sheet all at the same time. So this is very useful. Another example may be where I want to look at my bank transactions. So I open Link in new tab and you'll see that I have the balance sheet open and my banking transactions also appear and then perhaps I want to look at my rules. To set up Rules in QuickBooks and Rules is also a great way to save time and something that we'll cover in a future video. Hopefully that was helpful. Please like subscribe to my channel as I plan to make a bunch more of these videos. And if you have any ideas or questions about QuickBooks Online and you'd like to make you'd like me to make a video about it, please make a note in in the comments. Thanks for watching.
