So let's talk about multi dimensional beings that I've personally worked with, beings like Thoth, Ma' at and so forth. They do not require you to call them gods, they only require respect. Let's talk about the devil for instance. The devil has no power over you if you don't put him on a pedestal. Rather you do that with worship or fear. Lets talk about the Hindu goddess Kali. She only wants to take the role of a divine.
Mother figure. Not everybody worships their mom.
Archangels on the other hand can be a little bit like iffy. Everyone thinks that angels are all like positive and whatever but really they have very shady intentions most of the time. Also there is no difference between angels and demons. They're the same creature, just different philosophies on living life. Any true guide or guru is going to make you worship yourself.
