You are of course, very familiar by now with the GLP1 based drugs. These are drugs like Wegovy and Ozempic. One of the things you might not appreciate is quite how readily people want to get off of them. This was a paper published recently that documented the degree to which patients that are on GLP1 agonists willingly got off the medication. What they found was that at 24 months, over 70% of patients had stopped taking the drugs. The primary reason for this is that people get sick of feeling sick, that much of the mechanism of action with these drugs is to slow the intestines, to slow the rate at which food is moving through the intestines. Naturally, this causes a substantial degree of nausea. So if you are on these drugs and you're feeling inclined to stop them, you're not alone.
