I just closed the biggest deal of my life

In this personal vlog, the creator narrates the emotional journey leading up to his surprise marriage proposal to Julia in Aruba. The video opens with a reflective monologue about recognizing that a Saturday night cooking dinner alone is the last night he will be single, followed by a behind‑the‑scenes look at planning the picnic proposal, hiding the ring, and capturing the moment on camera. The vlog intersperses candid dialogue among friends (Speakers A‑I), Julia’s reactions, and poetic spoken‑word interludes that express love and the significance of the decision. After the successful proposal, the group enjoys a photo‑shoot, encounters a flat tire, and waits for a family member to rescue them. The creator concludes by emphasizing the value of documenting life’s milestones, thanking viewers, and hinting at future content. The narrative blends humor, anticipation, heartfelt confession, and a celebration of commitment, framing the proposal as the "biggest deal" of his life.
Chapters
Do you ever think about doing something for the last time but not actually realizing that it was the last time? Not sleeping under your parents' roof ever again as a child. Never sitting in a classroom ever again after you graduate. Not reporting to a boss ever again once you leave a corporate job and start your own company. I was standing in the kitchen cooking dinner about an hour ago and I had this crazy epiphany because I'm home alone. Julia's in Jersey with her friends and my roommate Ben is staying at his girlfriend's house in Cincinnati. And all I could think to myself was, holy shit, this is my last Saturday night as a non-engaged aged person. I'm proposing to Julia next weekend. She has no fucking clue. Her parents are flying down to Aruba. Her best friend is also flying down. But I was sitting here and I was thinking to myself, damn, I feel like knowing it's the biggest decision you'll ever make in your whole life, and I'm only 29 years old and I'm about to live the next however many decades that I'm alive with this person, it only felt fitting to turn on the camera and acknowledge the fact that this is a last— the last Saturday where I'm gonna cook dinner for myself and hang out where I am not engaged. Julia, I know you're probably watching this video right now in shock because the proposal already happened. Just know I love you. This is the best decision I've ever made in my entire life. Now watch the journey of how this all went down.
D'oh!
Don't worry guys, we made it to Aruba and Julia got new sunglasses. Everyone can look.
Wow!
This girl has absolutely no idea. She is currently putting her makeup on to get ready to go to dinner. But holy fucking shit, it's happening. We are getting dressed right now and then we're heading over to the location where we're doing a picnic. I need to figure out how I'm going to get the ring and put it inside of my bag without her going in it because I'm wearing like these linen pants and I don't want her to be able to notice it before we get there. Do have to say, though, as the last moment that I have as not an engaged man, the best decision that I'll ever make in my life and the one that I'm most confident about. And I'm excited that I started picking up a camera to be able to capture shit like this because these moments are absolutely timeless. I will show you guys this really quick.
I'm going to show you guys this really quickly before she sees it. Look at this. I'm still convinced she has no idea. She's putting her makeup on right now, so I'm gonna put that in this bag. Shout out Tom and Lunchbox. With my wallet and my sunglasses and whatever other garbage I can shove in here so she doesn't look in it. This is crazy.
You know what?
Say it.
I know it's not happening.
No, tell the camera.
No, no, please.
Because if it did, I'd kill you.
You'd kill me if what? If you had your whoop on?
Yeah.
What is that?
Yeah.
Yes, it actually is. Yes.
They say the holy water's watered down and this town's lost its faith. Our colors will fade eventually, so if our time is running out, day after day, we'll make the mundane a masterpiece. Oh my, my, oh my, my love, I take One look at you, you're taking me out of the ordinary. I want you laying me down till we're dead and buried. On the edge of your knife, staying drunk on your vibe.
The angels up in the clouds are jealous knowing we found something so out of the ordinary. You got me kissing the ground of your sanctuary. Shadow me with your touch, oh Lord, return me to dust. Angels up in the clouds are jealous, know who we found.
Hopeless hallelujah on this side of heaven's gate.
Oh my life, how do you breathe and take my breath away? At your altar I will pray. You're the sculptor, I'm the clay. Oh my, my, you're taking me out of the ordinary.
[FOREIGN] Are you sure?
Are you sure?
To be clear, guys, this is the first question Julia just asked me after I proposed.
Are you sure?
I've never been more sure in my whole life. It is the best decision I've ever made in my life, and I also know that it's the most important decision that you have to make in your life. And I can tell you that when you sit in silence for 10 days straight and think about nothing but the life that you're gonna create with one individual, you don't leave a stone unturned. I've been thinking about this moment for a long time.
When did you get it?
I've had it for a month and a half, but it was in Florida.
When did you decide that you were going to do it here?
A long time ago.
Really?
I was like debating when I wanted to do it and where I wanted to do it, and then when I found out that we could get Bruce's unit, I was like, oh, it's amazing, I could fly her parents down.
Such a weight lifted off my shoulders in the best way possible. Yeah, the last couple months have been— this is all I've been thinking about.
Holy crap.
Oh, you don't have to be awkward anymore.
It's just fine.
No, be cute. Make out.
I look like I got this— something.
So cute.
Whatever that is.
That's my honey.
We are hanging out in the middle of Aruba with a flat tire, but like not by the hotels and the beach that we normally hang out at.
This entire week has been quite memorable.
To say the least. I mean, we did the picnic proposal, and then today I surprised her with an off-road photo shoot so she could wear what she wanted and be in the clothes that she wanted. And on the way back, found out we had a flat tire, and now we're just hanging out waiting for my dad to come to the rescue to go meet the fam for dinner.
He's our savior.
Okay.
Oh, she is shiny right now.
She looks good when I wear yellow.
I'm just the camera guy.
It was written in the stars, you and me.
Life is so precious, man. You got to document these moments. You have to embrace them. Do the things that you're gravitating towards that consume your mind, even if it makes you feel a little bit uncomfortable. I picked up this camera a few months ago to start documenting long-form videos on YouTube, and it's been one of the greatest experiences in my life. I appreciate you guys for following along on this journey. Time to go back to New York. We'll see you guys next week.
Peace!
