In this episode, you will learn how McDonald's used process to drive rapid and repeatable growth into their global empire. Welcome to Sales Process Made Easy. The show helping seven to eight figure industry construction and trade. Sales and business leaders finally end the stress of inconsistent sales by simplifying your sales systems so your team can close more deals and grow faster. I'm your host, Ben Wright, and a leader who has been building businesses and sales teams just like you for the last 20 years. In this lesson, we're going to uncover exactly why McDonald's was or continues to be so successful as a brand in a market. When I'd argue there has been movement away from certainly unhealthy or less healthy food, how McDonald's has been able to continue to thrive. We'll have a look at the sales lessons and what we can do as leaders around that to help us grow now and into the future. So, McDonald's. You know, I'm going to assume, I think pretty safely that people on this podcast know who McDonald's are, right? But their success as a retail brand has been driven by their ability to really provide the same quality, the same speed, the same experience in their product across many thousands or tens of thousand franchises across the world. Right? They were pioneers in the franchising model, but what they've been able to do around standardizing their process to repeat again and again and again is unbelievable. Right now, of course, they have property portfolios that I think are huge, but their sales volumes into 20, 20, 20. So only five years ago were about $23 billion globally. Right? Huge numbers. They're certainly not an Amazon that we profiled last week, but they have been able to do what others in fast food haven't, and that's guarantee or almost guarantee that, that you receive the same experience no matter who's serving you. So for us as leaders, as sales or business leaders, that should give us some real confidence that no matter who we're dealing with, no matter who we have in our team, if McDonald's can do it across millions of employees globally, we should be able to do it across our teams or our smaller numbers. If we can build sales processes that can be replicated consistently with our customers, then what we are doing here is, first of all, we're able to create a system, but we're able to create a system that we can design around what works. Because once we replicate that system or those offers again and again and again, we'll work out what does and doesn't work. And when we know what does and doesn't work, we can change it. And if we have good, strong process in our team, we can have some confidence that it'll get executed. It's one of the founding modules that we roll out in the sold out sales teams academy because we recognize that having a repeatable process, whether it be simple or complex, is just critical to be able to scale and delight our customers. So the key lesson coming out of today is that we need to try and remove reliance on individuals or rainmakers or one person who does most of the work to create that repeatable, scalable process, even if we only have a very small sales team. So I think the key message coming out of the McDonald's lesson here is that investing the time and in your sales systems is worthwhile, even if you're just creating a repeatable quote process from lead generation into on site quote into written quote, into how we follow up, right? That is something that is standardized and will help us grow. If we can move into how we do a full sales process, how we provide demonstrations on our product or service, how we provide social proof, how we storytell, right? Anything we can create scalable sales systems on is going to help us grow our business. And that really is the key message from today is that McDonald's have or their story has been able to demonstrate how great systems and consistency can really drive sales growth. In fact, I'd almost use the words unstoppable with McDonald's at times because just by having this system they could rely on, they were able to accelerate growth. And if us as leaders, if we're able to have a sales system that we rely on, we can accelerate lead generation, right? We can accelerate our operational capabilities, we can accelerate how many people we talk to and thereby our revenue. So for today, as you're leaving the short and sharp punchy Wednesday podcast, what I'd love you to think about is what in your team, from a sales point of view, do you need to standardise? Pick one thing now, leave this podcast and do what you can to standardize it. If you're not sure what to do, of course you know where to find us. But above everything else, we're really grateful that you're tuning into these, because these small, fast sales process tips or sales process made easy can really help you move the dial on the business. We're dropping podcasts every Monday, Wednesday and Friday and really encouraging everyone to run with that mantra of being 1% better each and every day, because when you get it right, it really does make all the difference.
