My name's William Hang, and I'm an orthodontist. I've been practicing for several decades. For approximately 30 years now, I've been reopening previous orthodontic extraction spaces for patients.
Taking patients from a position of having sleep apnea or difficulty breathing or headaches or a variety of different TMJ issues.
I just had this issue where my mouth was kind of caving in.
And he came forward with ideas on moving teeth forward and opening spaces to open airways up. They weren't talked about. It wasn't the mainstream.
I've got 3 sisters that are very close in age to me, and when, when they all smile, their smiles look lovely and mine kind of was just nonexistent.
And so treating them, you have to deal with the aesthetic issues, the functional issues, and also the emotional issues which frequently go along with it.
I realized that I wasn't so strange, and they assured me that there were a few people older than me that had actually had the same thing done.
And making these people comfortable, making, giving them their lives back in many cases. And I think it's just the fact that he pushed hard for this.
I've had it done myself because I did this treatment in my own mouth.
Every meeting I go to now, there's people talking about airway opening, moving those teeth forward, opening up the arch form. And Bill was just somebody that was ahead of the game on that.
Basically, he was his first, as I understand it, his kind of guinea pig.
I try to comfort the patient. It never turns out to be a big deal for them.
I don't know, they just, I mean, they seem to have it all He is an
amazing orthodontist, and his patients will sing his praises.
Professional, courteous, fun. I mean, interested in— they seem to be interested in you, the person.
We're seeing that this is an amazing thing right now.
