Are you comfortable or courageous? #scalingupbusiness

Here's what I say to people. I say, if you became more powerful and influential, will the world be worse off or better off? Well, invariably they say better off. And, well, Peter Drucker said, we're here on earth to make the world better, not to prove it. Right? So that's good. Better off. Then I say, just trying to become more powerful and influential sometimes make you feel uncomfortable. Uncomfortable? A lot of people say, yeah, it makes you very uncomfortable. So then I say, okay, that's nice. What's more important to you? Making the world a better place or being comfortable? Choose. If you'd rather be comfortable, fine. Be comfortable. Don't complain about it, though. And don't brag about how self effacing and humble you are when basically you lack guts.
