Bill Gallagher coaches a leadership team on protecting their focus from the CEO's communications while scaling. Turn off notifications, don't check messages first thing in the morning, and center yourself with coffee or a stretch before reading anything that might upset your day.
But then as I worked with the other leaders who were, I had a more direct coaching relationship within that team. And normally I have the CEO and the rest of the team, but in this case, I just had the rest of the team and not the CEO. But in this case, I my coaching for them was turn that filter shit off. Like, change your notifications. Don't look at that first thing in the morning. Get yourself centered and stuff, because you know there's going to be something from him when you open that up, and it's going to throw your whole day. So get a little coffee in you or stretch your legs or do whatever you need to do to, like, center yourself before you, like, open up to that, like, assault of his energy.
