I’m always wary of not using language that broadly belittles people... #scalingupbusiness

Competition kills businesses but it's not competition with other businesses. It's competition between managers and departments. We're all supposed to be on the same freaking team and for some reason we compete. And you can resolve this. I mean there's an actual solution and it's something that we go out and teach and this is this concept that when you're young and you're early in your organization your, your pass offs between departments are informal, right? I got a bunch of leads, I'm sending them your way. Every successful organization I've ever worked with, without exception over about a billion dollars has a formal handoff process meaning there is a contractual relationship between marketing and sales, between sales and operations, between operations and service or fulfillment and procurement. There are written contracts and they treat each other like customers. And if those departments can't work together and can't deliver the contractual obligation to each other, you fire the freaking department. You just outsource marketing.
