How to run a quarterly planning session: schedule it around the quarter turn, block a full day offsite if possible, review what worked and what didn't last quarter, then map out the next 90 days using a one-page Vision Summary to connect strategy to individual goals.

So what about the quarterly planning? So quarterly planning is going to happen sometime in the last three weeks to the first two weeks of the quarter. So right around the quarter turn, you want to have a regular time that you're doing it. Generally a day, as little as half a day, as much as two days. So somewhere in there for your really well run, easy team, small teams, half a day might suffice, especially with some practice. A full day though is much better. Get outside the office. Don't do it in your office. Get away, get outside. Change up your thinking. Even for the quarterly plan, enjoy the experience, right? Use a facilitator if you can. In our experience, we can do them both online and zoom as well as in person, but the in person elevates something. And if you do a lot of zoom meetings, so then don't do everything on zoom, get some of them in person. So those are some, some basic tips around it. You want to review and plan and then do some deep dive on issues, right? So review how the last quarter went, your results, the wins, misses, learnings, things like that. Do some deep dive around issues that relate to where you want to be in a year and beyond. And, and then, you know, don't just solve every issue, but a couple of things maybe that need attention. And then plan out the next quarter. What does the next 90 days look like? What does that mean for person? How are we going to communicate this to the wider team? That's quarterly planned. You take a day, a quarter to do that. Everything goes a lot better. You stay on track. So hope that's helpful. This is a really quick, easy one. The document that we use most often is the Vision Summary. We'll give you an example of that here as well. The Vision Summary is our sort of one page plan that connects down to the quarter and down to the individual or department level. Hope that's helpful. We'll talk to you again soon. Keep scaling.
