Blake Robert Templeton argues that pressure reveals what you actually worship. Christian men have grown numb and passive when they should be dangerous in truth and strong in spirit. He cites 2 Timothy 1:6 to urge listeners to rekindle their spiritual fire before it dies under routine and distraction.

It's hard to believe this, but it's true. You can tell what a man worships by what he becomes under pressure. There's a quote that says, when a man's squeezed, what he's most full of comes out. And many men have not become dangerous in truth, grounded in love, and strong in spirit. They become numb, passive, comfortable, and unclear. And that means something formed that, and it wasn't the real Jesus. Like, that's an epidemic because Jesus is not producing men to go through the motions while their marriage starves, their soul grows cold. All right, scripture says this: for this reason I remind you, the gift of God which is in you, kindle afresh. Light that fire up, wake it up, stir it up. Stop letting it be buried under routines, distractions. A man cannot let that fire die and then wonder why his home feels cold. To be honest with you, this is why most Christian men have religion in their mouth but no fire in their life. My question for you is, is your fire alive?
