God prioritizes your spiritual growth over material success. He uses hardship and pressure to teach dependence on Him rather than self-reliance, and will never bless you so much that you stop needing Him. The goal is worship focused on the giver, not the achievement.
Chapters
The Lord will never create a life for you that makes him unnecessary. Let that sink in. Some of you are praying for blessing while fighting the very process that qualifies you to carry the blessing. You want provision or promotion, but you resist the pressure. Like, you want the harvest, but you complain about the season of plowing. God isn't just trying to bless your life, he's building your capacity for his intimacy. Because if your character doesn't grow with the blessing, the blessing becomes a thing that actually destroys you. That's why he allows resistance and stretching and fire. And I get it. I mean, I got certain blessings that I want on my time frame too, and I'm still waiting. But everything we call tribulation, it may be the very thing teaching you to depend on Jesus instead of yourself. Because the goal was never the blessing. The goal was always a deeper intimacy, deeper dependence. And God will never give you so much that you stop needing him. He'll bless you, then he'll stretch you. He'll increase you, and then he'll humble you. It's to remind you of where you came from. It's to remind you of whose you are. It's to remind you of how good he is. So when the blessing finally arrives, don't allow that to be your achievement. Don't let that be your worship. You worship the giver, and every victory becomes another reason to fall at the feet of Jesus.
