Blake Robert Templeton argues God rejects lukewarm faith and demands exclusive devotion. He cites James 1:5 to show that asking God for wisdom while doubting makes you double-minded and disqualifies you from receiving. God will not support you if you're also drawing from opposing spiritual sources.
Chapters
The Bible says that God absolutely abhors the lukewarm. He's like, I wish you would just go all in. But the fact that you try to stay in it and you come back to the enemy as your source, I want to spit you out of my mouth. So the Lord is making it very clear, I don't allow two sourcings. In James 1:5, he says, if anyone lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it'll be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe, and if he doesn't, he's a double-minded man, unstable in all he does, and that man should not receive anything from the Lord. Because he's double-minded, he's double-sourced. So God is a jealous God. He's like, I want to give you everything, I want to strongly support you, 1 Chronicles 16:9. He wants to strongly support you, but you can't be double-sourced. The enemy is willing for you to be double-sourced.
