Blake Robert Templeton argues that biblical masculinity combines opposing traits: fierce yet kind, bold yet humble, adventurous yet guarded. He says most modern men lack spiritual spine and courage, and calls for men to stand firm against secular pressures and demonstrate unwavering conviction in God's truth.

When I look at the greatest men today, I find but a few who are biblically masculine. How about you? I mean, what I'm talking about is like fierce yet kind, bold while still humble, wild with adventure yet their heart is guarded, who honor their word, who live a lifestyle of complete purity and please God. But the 99% of all men, both in the church and non-spiritual, are weak, weak men without spine and without spiritual balls. A spine to know what you believe, to believe in God's purity and truth, and then to stand, to stand for it and not bend as negative circumstances permeate from the secular world. And the spiritual balls to stand for what you believe, unwavering in conviction, no matter the cost. That's what a biblically masculine man does.
