Blake Robert Templeton argues men fear physical harm when they should fear God. He uses Psalm 2:11 to separate reverent fear of the Lord from fear of danger, and warns against trusting the enemy's voice or destroying yourself spiritually.

Psalm 2:11 says, serve the Lord with fear and rejoice in trembling. This is not like a fear of like, oh my gosh, he's gonna hurt me. It's not that kind of fear. It's a fear of trembling that if I go in and trust the enemy's voice, I'm going to leave his position. I'm going to go take upon the slave market mentalities again, and I'm going to destroy myself. It's called spiritual suicide. So how do you do it? You actually engage the soul, take control of the soul by having more ferociousness, more hatred for evil, more authority and power through the blood of Jesus, of literally destroying the rules that are within that bring a constipation to truth and start giving you seeds of demonic desire. We literally destroy those things. By crucifying the flesh, the actual conduit, the bridge to the enemy's voice.
