Blake Robert Templeton preaches on 1 Corinthians 9:24-27, where Paul compares the Christian life to a race for an eternal crown. Templeton says believers must run with self-discipline, subjugating their bodies to the Spirit to preach the gospel faithfully and avoid disqualification.
I have finished the race. I have died for the King. 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 talks about Paul saying that all runners run in a race and only one gets the prize. You gotta run in such a way to get that prize. So he's talking about the Olympic Games, and he's like, you get a crown, but it's a perishable crown. But we, we don't do it for a perishable crown. We do it for a crown that's eternal. So I beat my body and I make my body a slaves, so that after I've preached to others, I won't be disqualified from the prize.
