In this sermon excerpt, Blake Robert Templeton challenges the common belief that the purpose of life is to acquire money, wealth, drugs, happiness, a good marriage, and a good family. He argues that the true "game of life" is to become a "king under the King of Kings"—a steward of heavenly authority who receives God's promised blessings, such as a godly wife, wealth, and unending joy. He distinguishes conditional happiness from eternal joy and describes worldly desires as mere mimics of the divine blessings awaiting those who fully surrender their hearts to God. Templeton warns that most people choose the enemy’s easier path, mistakenly expecting the enemy to provide these blessings.

People tell me all the time, the game of life is money, wealth, drugs, happiness, good marriage, good family. That's not the game of life. The game of life is becoming a king under the King of Kings and distributing the authority of heaven and all the precious promises of God. Can God then bring in the blessings? A good wife, that's the precious promise of God. Can he bring wealth? That's a precious promise of God. Can he bring happiness? Actually, not happiness, but joy. Happiness is conditional. But joy unending. Yes, all the fragrances, all the things in this life that everyone wants, those are only masqueraded mimics of what God has actually in reserve, waiting for the heart to be fully given to him. Most people, they just choose the enemy's route, hoping that he can provide it because it's easier.
